@@isao_the_2nd If you were PH, your earnings would be elevated at 3.5X Dining/Travel and 2.625X Everything Else, but the cash back redemption rate is still 1cpp. The redemption rate is the same, but you earn more points per dollar spent so you'd get more cash back overall at the higher tiers.

All of the Bank of America cards are really great in combinations with the Platinum Honors status. Personally these cards aren’t necessarily for me until I do have at least $100,000 under Bank of America’s management, but if that’s the case for someone else, these cards can be really awesome. This card now has the best priority pass after Chase removed the PP restaurant access. If you're platinum honors, the 75k pt SUB, the credit double dip, and the possible downgrade path to the CCR make this a great option.

Some other benefits of the elite card VS the standard card. Better trip insurance, primary insurance on auto rentals, cell phone coverage, among some other perks over the standard non-elite card. Those more than make up for the $100 difference in effective AF.

I've been waiting for this video! People aren't into this card as much, and I thank you for making a video on it. I got the premium rewards card (non elite) a month or two ago, but I was really on the fence. I might grab this card at some point in the future. Do you feel this card works well with your other cards? I have the AmEx Plat (x2), Gold, and Green, and I think this might cause a paralysis of analysis situation when I'm going to buy something lol. I did the numbers when looking up flights to Chicago from Seattle, and the BoA portal, like you said, was the same as the others.

No problem Shad! Glad you enjoyed the video! Yeah, this card, from my perspective, is pretty much a great replacement for the AMEX Green Card. I used to run the AMEX Quadfecta (AMEX Trifecta + Green), but then realized that I actually needed a good backup VISA card that had a good dining multiplier as restaurants are usually where I ran into "sorry, no AMEX" problems. I think if you want to focus on mass-producing MR points, then stick with the Green - but if you want a solid backup VISA, the PR and PR Elite are great options. The scale tips towards the PR Elite side if you don't mind using the BoA Travel Portal for that extra 1.25cpp redemption to squeeze that extra juice out of those already elevated earning rates. And about this card working well with my other cards .. wait for my video next week, and I'll go into much more detail about it then 👍!

I also have this card. Your video is excellent, but you should have include the Priority Pass Membership which has unlimited guests and visits. Last, the card is a metal card and very heavy. Great card and very impressive.

Yeah so this card gets you a Priority Pass Select membership through the Visa Inifinite system, meaning that you also can get restaurant credit when using the PP from this card! You're allowed to bring up to 2 free guests with your membership (depends on the lounge your visiting, but you can bring up to 2 guests for the most part). Also, you can have up to 4 AUs with this card for free and each AU can get their own PP card and then bring their own 2 guests as well so you could potentially get 15 people into a PP lounge with one card account! This is very similar to what the Capital One Venture X can do.

It seems to me like however many AUs you add, you'll end up having to choose between yourself or one of your AUs for the PP membership. If they give 5 AUs with PP membership for free, they'd be running a loss on the annual fee. BoA is famous for not running their credit cards at a loss ($500 sign up bonus versus what Amex, Chase offer at least $1000 for the same fee-category cards). I'll give BoA CS tomorrow to triple confirm about this. I'm asking all these questions because I'm trying to decide whether this is a good card for me or not (perhaps in the next 2-3 months). This is the quote from the terms: Provided you meet the issuer-determined eligibility requirements, Bank of America will allow enrollment of one Premium Rewards Elite Visa Infinite cardholder (including authorized users) as a member in the Priority Pass Select program, without charge of a membership fee. Hi Wilson, sure let me answer your questions for you. 1. Yes, it is an unlimited PP pass with 2 free guests. 2. You usually can only go to an airport lounge once a day unless you have connecting flights at multiple airports on the same day. I think most lounges only let you go in once per day per location, but it depends on the lounge’s specific rules. 3. You should be able to go to PP restaurants but I’m not sure since I’ve never tested this myself, but since this card is a VISA Infinite, it should behave exactly like the CSR

Hey! I think that you can get much better reward travel with transfer partners for international flights. Domestic travel typically only gets you around 1cpp for rewards travel so with the PR Elite’s bonus you can get up to 1.25cpp which I think is the best way to redeem points in this card!

The standard premium reward card also gives you a $100 incidental credit, so you come out ahead of them paying you a net $5 after the annual fee. Also, should the points be valued at 1.20 cpp if the discount is 20% on travel?

Yeah, the PR is a pretty nice card too for that reason. As for the cpp, actually when you do the math out, it’s still 1.25cpp, not sure why, but I’ve calculated it a bunch of times and the value is 1.25cpp

This card reminds me of the U.S. Bank Altitude Reserve in terms of how easy it is to get statement credits to offset the annual fee. 3% in mobile wallet is not bad, BUT this card is so OP Stanley and I did not even know about it. Hi John! Unfortunately, no. The points are not transferable, even between the PR and PR Elite cards so make sure that they’re redeemed before canceling or product changing the card!

The really nice thing about the card is that you can actually use the points for travel without any restrictions. I looked into the other premium travel cards such as Venture X, Sapphire Reserve, etc. The redemption of points to be used in air travel is somewhat a lie. Not all flights are available if using those points and if they are available, the seats are limited which is a no go since I fly with my family. BoA travel center has all flights available and the 20% point bonus is really nice. However, as mentioned in the video, this card is only truly worth it if you are a platinum honors customer with BoA.

Yeah, this card is only really good with the PH tier, but I think another underrated perk of this card is the 4 Free AUs that can all also get their own Priority Pass, which comes with 2 free guests, much like the Venture X card. If you had both the Venture X and BofA PR Elite and had 8 different AUs, you could potentially bring in 29 different people into a PP lounge!

I got the card in the mail today and was so excited…i have successfully activated the card, but when i tried to make payment online and bills nothing going through 🙁 i called BOA fraud department like 3 times and they said my card is not blocked! It’s active and ready to use, i tried to use the card again and again but nothing going through, this is stressful What could it be ? Ahh I’m sorry to hear about the trouble Paula! Not sure why that would be the case, especially if you confirmed this with BofA itself. I would try making an in-person purchase on the card, and if that doesn’t work, I would recommend calling them and having them issue you a new card as the one you have may be defective for some reason.

Point of correction.. there is no X multiplier but instead depending on your tier level.. you get anywhere from 25 % to 75 % bonus on points earned. Normal earn rate is 2 points on travel/dining & 1.5 point on everything else. This you can make 3.5 points or 2.62 points if the highest tier bonus is applied. These are not X multipliers .. kinda misleading in your video

If you want to get really technical, then yes, you are right. You get 2pts on travel/dining and 1.5pts on everything else and then 25%-75% gets added on as a bonus. However, this functionally works as 3.5X for dining/travel and 2.625X at the highest tier so the difference is really just semantics.

Not sure about Chase or AMEX portals, but for BofA, when I've looked at flights through their portal, the prices are generally the same. If you see a higher price, it may be because the lower displayed price may be from a basic economy fare as compared to a main economy fare.

It depends on how many recent cards you've had recently. BofA has a 2/3/4 rule where they will deny you if you had 2 new cards in a 2-month period, 3 new cards in a 12-month period or 4 cards in a 24-month period. If you have a BofA relationship, the rule becomes 7 new cards in a 12-month period. I don't think CLIs factor into this.

The rule is having a running average balance of $100k over a 3 month period to qualify for the platinum honors tier. So yes, you need to keep at least $100k across all accounts that you have at Bank of America.

You can apply for the credit card with any amount of assets at Bank of America, but to maintain a certain tier for the multiplier bonus, that’s what the total average asset value is important for.

I'm not sure. I asked this question to BofA customer service last year when the card first came out, and they told me no, the PR and PR Elite cards have different points (due to the 20% airline transfer bonus on the PR Elite), but this may have changed since then.

I still love this card, and use it as a core card in my setup! It’s great for catch-all as well as dining when my Amex cards aren’t accepted. Love the 20% redemption bonus for airfare and that’s how I’ve been redeeming my points!

@@davidhamilton6187 Appreciate it David! You would love this card. I would say that make sure you can use the statement credits too (airline incidental and lifestyle). That would make the card a no brainer since then the effective annual fee drops to $100.

This card is awful, BofA is also not an institution to patronize for credit cards for most part. They are specifically an institution that wants you to give them your money for their cards to be worth it. It's a strong no for this card to most people. Lol

Hi Russell! So yeah, if you're a BofA customer already, or plan to be, then this card can be good, but yes, you're totally right - it's definitely a strong no for most people. There are tons of credit cards out there that have much better benefits that are more readily available!
