The fungal ignition accelerants are so primitive, so so cool😮😮
@boggycreekbeast Жыл бұрын
Agreed. Fungi were actually the first accelerants I came up with for this method

I recommend starting at home with planks or 2X4's for rolling surfaces. Here's a tutorial that I made for a friend kzbin.info/www/bejne/aXjSYXiMerGFnNk

The external fibers of Milkweed make a good cordage that is almost as good as Dogbane fibers.

I tried it again with no success. I tried another three times and still nothing. It would not even get warm. Then sometimes it had an odour but still nothing after 9 minutes. I filmed it as well

Hello there. Glad you enjoyed the video. I highly recommend starting at home with milled lumber for rolling surfaces, cotton and ashes. Begin there before moving on to wild plants and natural surfaces. You can eventually take this as far as you want. I've done this in the wild without ashes or using tools to make the set. Here is an instructional I made for a friend : Part 1 kzbin.info/www/bejne/aXjSYXiMerGFnNk Part 2 kzbin.info/www/bejne/j57FeHWIdsaEfdU

Do you have a video that offers ideas on different ways to make the birds nest that you put the ember into? Would a feather stick work?
@boggycreekbeast3 жыл бұрын
No, I don't. I use almost anything for a tinder bundle in my area. There's an over abundance of Cedar trees here and I frequently use that as my birds nest. Preparing one isn't difficult. Here's a good instructional kzbin.info/www/bejne/hZrOh6d4nMmnoNU

Good morning to you, too. Milkweed is a good plant for this. Been using it for years with this method.
