"Bogus Charge": FBI Raids African People's Socialist Party; Group Dismisses Russian Influence Claims

Leaders of the African People's Socialist Party say the FBI carried out a violent raid on its properties with flash grenades and drones early Friday morning in Missouri and Florida. The pan-Africanist group has been a longtime advocate for reparations for slavery and a vocal critic of U.S. foreign policy. The raid appears to be connected to a separate indictment of a Russian man accused of using U.S.-based groups to spread Russian propaganda and tampering with U.S. elections. We speak with Omali Yeshitela, chair of the African People's Socialist Party, who describes how he was zip-tied while his home was raided. He says the FBI's implication that their group was taking orders from the Russians is "the most ridiculous, asinine" narrative. "It's an attack on the right of Black people," says Yeshitela. "It's an attack on our struggle for the absolute total liberation of every square inch of Africa."

There's a great half hour documentary on "The Battle of St. Pete", the massive uprising Chairman Omali was talking about that took place in 1996 after the police murder of a black teenager Tyron Lewis in broad daylight. You can find it on The Burning Spear TV channel and the title is "Battle of St Pete". It's crazy that the exact same attacks are still happening in 2022! in 1996, the local black community in the neighborhood surrounding the Uhuru House fought back fiercely so much that they shot down a police helicopter that was forced to retreat "under heavy fire". it was a SERIOUS resistance. Anyone interested in revolutionary uprisings has got to watch that documentary and learn more about it. It's also written about in the book "Overturning the Culture of Violence", by Penny Hess- Chair of the African People's Solidarity Committee who was also one of the targets of this recent raid.

Despite the need for more visibility on this, there are far too many civilians who see it as righteous simply because a) they're black, b) they're socialists, and c) both of those things. The socialist part is probably the thing they hate the most, though. There are people still screaming about how communism is illegal and that it's not unconstitutional to enforce anti-communist laws. This country has been doing more than just flirting with fascism for the past 100 years; it has been a hotbed for it. Not just via the Republican party, or even with the "compromises" of the Democratic party, or even from the capitalist system that has almost completely taken political power. The people themselves are becoming more and more open about their fascism, though because of how history has been rewritten in the United States, they don't know that that's what it's called. They think it's just patriotism, because that's what their media and politicians tell them.

I'm still relatively young so i fully expect a full fascist dictatorship before my life is over, and I was atheist but I started studying eastern religions so that I'm ready to die literally any day when the inevitable nuclear war begins. Trump had a soft spot for black socialists, which he demonstrated every time he talked about BLM, ANTIFA and the "radical left," and all of the great things they were doing...oh, wait... Trump's fascism (in the true sense of the word. Mussolini and Hitler would have loved him) aside, the FBI has a long history of doing exactly this kind of thing, regardless of who is in charge. They don't clear everything they do with the POTUS, and Trump isn't some omnipotent or omniscient god-emperor who personally would have controlled what they did. You've got nothing to base your claim off of beyond your feelings. It's entirely likely that this would have happened regardless of who was in charge, and Trump was not above this sort of thing. The whole fiasco with federal agents ganking people off the streets in unmarked vans, with the APPROVAL of Trump (not by his order, but he also didn't do anything to stop it before or during) AND HIS FAN BASE, not to mention his attempted blackmail of Ukraine, is proof enough that nothing is really below Trump.
