boil washing kanekalon braiding hair for rerooting dolls

try fabric softener for conditioning it will make it so soft better than a conditioner.

It's a pity that I watched this tutorial late. I have already re-rooted my Barbie doll using saran hair, and I can say that the saran hair is on the heavier side, and it's bugging me. Maybe I'll purchase kanekalon braiding hair and do this method on my next rerooting project. I just hope that after boiling and washing the kanekalon, it will stay deflated and won't go voluminous, just like it originally looked.

Once kanekalon hair is straight it stays straight unless you add in the texture yourself. If the hair has any faint crimps still in it after the boil wash you can always flat iron it on a low heat setting. Just make sure you make the hair damp with a spray bottle with water so you don't burn the synthetic hair

@@amberruxpin Thank you so much. If it weren't for your videos, I would have still use saran hair in my next rerooting projects, which is pretty expressive. I'd rather spend it on much cheaper yet good-quality products.

Does anyone know if Kanekalon hair is toxic for rerooting doll hair? I've been reading that it is toxic and I'm just wondering if it omits vapors in the air, is it when you touch it or is it just toxic if you are using it for your own personal use?

I've been using it for years and have played with dolls that had kanekalon hair all my life and I've never fallen ill or experienced anything negative as a result.

I heard that too but you can always pre wash the hair if you’re not sure you can soak the hair in apple cider vinegar and wash it with any kind of shampoo and be sure to condition it after you wash it

im gonna try this, this week. what is the best glue to use once the reroot is complete?

This may not be helpful with keeping the hair in place, but if ur just doing this with your doll and putting it on the shelf or etc then it's best not to put glue simply bc with heat and other temperatures it can melt the glue inside and make your dolls hair super gooey and if u want the hair to be glued try not to put as much glue, and I suggest fabric tact glue.
