I wiped on boiled linseed oil a year ago, and it has held up very well at keeping the color from fading, and stopping the rust. It was a far cheaper option than sanding and repainting.

You have any problems with dust sticking to the oil? I have a long gravel driveway and I’m wanting to do this to my truck but don’t want the dust to stick to it.

@@jonathanjackson7000 you gotta let it dry for a few days in the heat before you take it down dirt roads. I live a few miles down a dirt road, so I definitely know where you are coming from.

It might have had some roadkill stuck up under it. Mine had shell casings and empty snuff cans under the seat. It smelled great.
