After 35 years in the Commercial/Industrial HVAC business one thing I do know……the last cast iron boiler (bigger than that one) I had part of carrying to a basement…I wish I had called in sick that day!😅 We don’t do as many steam boilers here in the South. The winters aren’t cold enough. Hot water boilers are the flavor of choice. I’ll take a fin and tube any day! Good video!

How long in advance did you wait for your boiler to arrive? 6 months? That’s a beast of a boiler how many horsepower is it? Single pipe steam, how are the mains vented? Is it counter flow or parallel flow?
@anthonyarealgoodplumber2 жыл бұрын
It took a few weeks, the management company actually purchased the boiler. So they went with what ever they could get as long as it was the right btu’s. It’s single pipe steam, the mains haven’t been properly looked at but I will eventually calculate and add gorton #2’s. It’s also parallel flow. Thanks for watching and stay tuned I will be going over all of that.

Do you dump the condensate or can it be reused in the mixing valve?
@anthonyarealgoodplumber2 жыл бұрын
We keep the condensate in the boiler and what ever condensate builds up in the steam system eventually gets back to the boiler by gravity returns. I have a video coming out explaining how that works. Thanks for watching and commenting!

You'll be very shamend USA, called as "one of the leading industrian nations", and use such a very-old-school-boiler-tecnic from the 1970ties in this time! 😡🤮👎

@@anthonyarealgoodplumber That doesnt matter. This old thing sets too much CO2 in the atmosphere. I shows, that the US-Standard is not the 2000's , ist like at the Flintstones. 🤮
