Boise Airport, big enough to do the job, small enough to be in and out in record time, almost every time. It used to be great when you could go all the way through the airport and see all the "action". It reminds me of Juneau.

It was cool to see how this is done from the ground! I flew 8 times recently, made the best of each (looking out the window, taking photographs, etc.) and wondered what happened to our bags after they made it into the plane, and what all had to be done when the plane arrived/taxied/departed, really neat stuff! P.S. sorry if you worked a shift early April or mid June and had to lift a 47.8 and/or 51.3 lbs bag... A lot of passengers probably don't realize the weight limit/fees aren't just to discourage weight for takeoff (since you can do 2x 50 lbs no fee, but 1x 100 lbs is the strict max, for Southwest at least), but actually measures in place for you guys, I could barely lift a 33 lbs bag recently (pretty pathetic, I hope to improve), and now have respect for workers who have these jobs that require lifting other people's heavy weight...

Thanks for checking the video out! Yeah most of the bags we had were 30lbs-100lbs. I’ve had some that were easily 120lbs and it’s not fun haha.

With the suitcases loaded like that, how hard is it to find one if it belongs to a passenger that didn’t board the flight?
@AircraftPitCrew
@AircraftPitCrew 4 ай бұрын
It’s very difficult with bigger flights. If it wasn’t loaded towards the end then we typically won’t get it. Delta will ship it for free or return it to your local airport. The only time we will get the bag and delay the flight is if you have medication in there. However if you still plan on making another flight your bag will be waiting for you at your destination.

now i understand that once you drop your checked bag off you dont handle it until you pic it up but most of the times fragile items have been broken is because of ramp agents just tossing them onto the belt. i also understand the time limits you have but this small aircraft leaving late at night or early morning is not going to be late when no one is there yet.
@AircraftPitCrew
@AircraftPitCrew 8 ай бұрын
Fragile items are usually damaged during flight due to improper loading and stacking. Also it’s worth noting most items get damaged when loading 737s or A321s. Their longer bins require us to throw the bags. Another contributing factor for damaged items is the type of bag you are using. Two wheel bags are thrown 90% of the time because the inability to roll and four wheel bags roll to the agent stacking the bags. Those early morning flights have 45 minutes from the time we start. At 15 minutes prior the plane is fully loaded and boarded. From 0400-0750 we have 6 flights go out with a crew of 6-8 working the entire ramp.

@@AircraftPitCrew you are not telling me nothing i dont already know and even as a ramp agent, probably better than you. my family members are the ones you direct in to apply the brakes and etc. they are the pilots and have been for years. grandpa is a retired delta pilot, lear test pilot and 1985 dallas L1011 crash investigator. his oldest son you might have heard of as being THE union rep for captain sully, and this is his son my cousin www.youtube.com/@flywithgarrett unless there is turbulence which most pilots try and avoid, the damage comes from the checked bag again to the hundreds of miles of conveyor belts under the airport to get our bags to the proper trailer for the flight, to your hands, to the destination ramp agent hands to the baggage claim inside the airport but most people will see you as the one handling their bag so they blame you for things being broken because no matter how you wrap an item, you are taking a risk to put it in your checked bag.

Sounds like improper packing of said fragile items. These guys don’t have time to delicately place each and every bag and suitcase in the ramps etc. Otherwise every plane would be leaving 3 hours past scheduled. People need to use common sense.

May I ask what rules the other people broke. I’ve watched your other videos and I did not see any rules being broken but what do I know I’m not an airport person
@AircraftPitCrew
@AircraftPitCrew Ай бұрын
The company made an entire list with timestamps. Most of it was dumb stuff you wouldn’t even write a person up for and some stuff they took more serious. The best part is that almost of the rules aren’t even rules with other companies including the company we were contacted to work for (Delta). Unifi is just extra with all their rules because it’s their goal to take every contract and the only way to achieve that is by creating standards that exceed everyone else’s. The day I was put on administrative leave was the same day Delta flew out a representative to come meet me and he congratulated me on my channel. He said he couldn’t wait to see more videos and thought my channel would help bring new people to the industry. Little did he know, it was my last day. I’m working on a new video that will explain everything and expose some of the terrible things Unifi does to hide their deficiencies. Their treatment of employees at my station cost them 26 people since I was let go in February.

I can’t speak for other airlines or airports, but at our airport Delta takes great care of your animals. During the winter and summer we keep the animals inside of our office and if somehow you leave and your pet doesn’t we’ll take care of it until we can get them on a new flight. And yes typically animals travel with the luggage. Sometimes if there isn’t much luggage we can put them in their own section but generally that’s not the case.

@AircraftPitCrew
@AircraftPitCrew 7 ай бұрын
I was fired for people in the video doing things that go against company rules and regulations. It was because I was part of leadership and they wanted to set an example. What the cameras didn’t capture was how many times I did tell people not to be breaking rules, however unfortunately for me people will do whatever they want. The airport and company didn’t care about the video itself. In fact corporate encouraged me to make more. My manager was also upset about it but his hands were tied. Also as a side note you can film anywhere in the airport as long as you don’t disclose sensitive info such as codes and security procedures.

The company didn’t like that my video featured so many people breaking rules. Since I was part of leadership I was the guy who took the fall and well I was also the guy with the camera. The company holds firm that it was because of me being in leadership (most likely for legal reasons).
