It should have been a SERIES request or at least Season 1 request 🙂 "Casual background watch" doesn't do justice to the creators. In an interview, the production designer Lisa Hanawalt says there are 20 jokes layered into every scene. I try to capture the animalistic trait jokes, references to culture and Hollywoo, the paintings and photos hung, banners, historical references, all with an underlying emotion and social commentary to it. First few episodes incline to typical animation format, probably to sell it to the producers? Ps: there's a definite storyline

Look, I'll say this - this first episodes, and actually like the first 3 or 4 episodes, is like a Trojan horse of sorts. It's meant to suck in the casual audience to some goofy talking animals cartoon. If you get through those first few episodes you quickly start to see that it is not at all what you think it is. It has been called maybe the best show of the decade. It is dark, disturbing, funny, poignant and more, and is worth your time and then some. It is a stunning character portrait and it's so crazy to me that these first few episodes are so different in tone to the rest of the series.

Woooo!! More BoJack reactions! This show is absolutely amazing. It's hard to imagine after watching only the first couple episodes, but it really is one of the most heartrending, most realistic, most HUMAN shows ever created. Lots of reviewers have it in their top shows of the 2010's and several have listed it as the best show of the decade (not best animated show, best of ANY show). It's that good. Stick with it. You won't regret it. EDIT: And I don't think it's a spoiler to say that it is one of the most serial shows ever made. The characters change and grow and the continuity is incredible. It's definitely NOT a "reset to the status quo" or "each episode is self-contained" type show.

I would rank this show as a whole, in the same league as something like 'Breaking Bad' or 'The Wire', in how they're incredibly well made shows intelligently tackling some taboo, dark subjects in today's society. But you wouldn't know that from watching just the first season, especially the early episodes. It's not that the show is "off" or that they don't have a clear goal, it's that this show is about *accelerating* , and takes a while until it builds up that speed. So, strongly recommended, and encourage you to be merciful to the first half of the season.

The first few episodes kind of trick you into thinking this is just a straight comedy but if you keep going till the latter half of the season it gets as good as some of the greatest shows ever made. I'm talking Sopranos and Breaking Bad level.

It’s an incredible show, once you get passed the first few episodes. It’s so relatable and deep and clever. It’s not a standard adult animated comedy show, it’s more a serialised dramadey/ tragi-comedy. Really hope you decide to do the whole show

This is a fantastic show and is extremely respectful to and a realistic depiction of various mental illnesses. There’s even theory’s that Bojack has BPD (Borderline Personality Disorder) so get ready if you guys decide to watch the whole series on your channel it’s going to be an emotional roller coaster. There will be times when you root for Bojack and times you’ll hate his guts. It’s not really a comedy As a whole it’s a Tragic Comedy. That being said Episode 2 is so absurd it’s one of my favorite funny episodes. So yes PLEASE keep watching it!

This show appears to be an adult animated comedy show, so you expect it to be like South Park or Family Guy. But it isn't. It's a very clever, deep , thought provoking study of being human that covers a bunch of topics including mental health and generational trauma and searching for happiness and actions having consequences etc.
