Some symbolism on Cuddlywhiskers explaining happiness. As he's doing it, he's drinking tea. While he explains happiness/drinks tea, Diane is looking away while Bojack is desperately reaching for his cup. Diane, at heart, does not want to be happy. She's afraid that if she tries to be happy, that she'll fail, just like all her other lifelong dreams. Bojack on the other hand, tries so so hard to find happiness, but never quite gets there because he stops trying. And I know it's easier to always cast blame on Diane, but PB has his fair of shortcomings too. He's just to cute, lovable, and funny for it to be noticeable or annoying enough. Bottom line is, they're incompatible with each other. And no, Diane is incompatible with Bojack as well, because she's essentially a female Bojack

Mr. Peanutbutter and Diane are two people who love each other but are terrible for each other, and the reasons why they love each other are exactly the same for why they dont work together. None of them is really right or wrong, yes, sometimes it is clearly apparent, who has moral superiority, but mostly they just unintentionally hurt each other, because they are just acting like themselves. Its... truly, truly tragic.

Ya'll just gonna ignore how Mr PB also ignores Diane's requests? He literally ruined his house and yard and if PC wasn't there to clean up his mess then Diane would be coming home to a ruined house. He's definitely more likeable but hes also a terrible ignorant person who always has someone to do the hard work for him.

Diane is constantly placed to higher expectations despite Peanutbutter repeatedly ignoring her desires and needs, he was literally trying to cover up his mess this entire episode and still the problem to you guys is Diane. They are both flawed people who love each other but just aren't compatible.

Fun thing about Goober/Richie. So I've rewatched that show many times, like 4 times! Heck, I did a full rewatch 2 months ago to get ready for season 5. And EVERY TIME I reach this episode I forget Goober's real name! That scene where he asks Bojack to call him by his real names, I'm like "what is even is real name already? Can't remember". It's so weird. I mean, I have a very bad memory about names by nature, but his is part of the episode's plot; it should help to make you remember it, but all I can remember about that guy is "Go home, Goober" :p

Interesting how our perception of Diane and Mr. PB's relationship changed. In the beginning, I always thought Diane was the more mature one and PB was a a joke but now it's reversed. Diane avoids her problems like crazy and can be self destructive(like Bojack, which is why he doesn't want to be around him they're too similar these days). And I think being around PB makes her more sad because he has genuine happiness and she can't seem to find that?

Mary Kate and Ashley are actually millionaire fashion moguls now, so maybe not the best example lol I think Diane and Mr. Peanutbutter are intrinsically incompatible as people, and only bring the worst out of each other. They've had the same problems from the very beginning (Zoe and Zelda) and have done nothing productive to overcome them because they (mostly Diane) keep trying to solve it alone, and not together.

Really blaming Diane this time? She was doing something important at the time and also Mr. PB lied to her and made a mess and he is being very controlling at the point of being abusive. Diane is the representation of anxiety in this show and that's why she is this way. She is deeply afraid of confrontation and questioning, because of the high expectations that she has for herself that she'll never reach and she knows what she should do, but she just can't do it. And as the mistakes and regrets pile up the anxiety rise exponentially.

Do I think Diane deserves all the blame they threw on her? No. Do I understand why Mr. Peanut Butter is treating her this way? Absolutely. You seem to be forgetting that Diane lied to him, for 3 MONTHS! And she would’ve done it longer had he not caught her in the act. Mr. PB might’ve chosen to forgive her, but his trust in her has been understandably shattered. So I don’t think it’s unfair that the onus is on her to earn his trust back. On the other hand, people are right that PB gets too careless and often goes against Diane’s wishes, as showcased in this very episode. Does this mean they’re fundamentally incompatible, or do they just have issues they both need to work on? I can’t say for certain, but I think acting like Mr. PB is the bad guy here and Diane is totally innocent isn’t accurate at all.

What is with people saying that Diane and Mr. Peanut are "incompatible?" I'm assuming they literally say that in the show, because otherwise it's just so weird that many people are just assuming that they can't work together. As long as two people love each other, it's pretty hard to say that they can't make it work when there is no outside force keeping them apart. And people keep using that same word, which is suspicious. Even if the show does say it, I just hate everyone throwing that term around. First off, it's a straight up spoiler, because now I expect them to not end up together only because of these comments. And second, it's not really fair to say that they are incompatible unless you're actually going to explain why, and I have yet to see one person explain why (one was close but didn't go in detail). And I just hate that everyone saying that they're incompatible like it's a for sure thing, and don't others assuming that just because people in the comments won't stop spamming it.
