(Clarification, talking from Midoriya's perspective) On the topic of metaphors, I've been thinking about this comment and the song lyrics a lot. At the beginning when he sings about seeing an airplane flying so seemingly effortlessly, and then remarks about why he cant get that thought out of his mind... but the way its written and the way he sings it makes it feel more like its begging the question rather than being a statement. He knows why. The airplane flies so effortlessly through the sky above him from his perspective, but in reality there is so much going on from the pilots to the air traffic controllers to the people maintaining the plane or runway to the people who designed the navigation system to the people that keep it updated... it seems so effortless because of how much work has been put in and is constantly put in every single day. You dont work out, get built, and then stop working out. Its a lifestyle, just like being a hero. Hes not realizing, hes acknowledging in a playful kind of way just how much work he needs to put in and how its going to be an uphill battle, but it wasnt just one person that got that plane up there or is keeping it up there... hes going to need his friends, his mentors, and everyone else to become that airplane. In the past it was a question of if, now its a question of when. I just really like this song now that Ive heard the actual meaning of the lyrics and this version of it, and Im a little high.

Not only does he stick to the original rhythm by adhering to the syllable count, but he makes sure to rhyme to keep it catchy while using words and expressions that evoke a lot within said constraints. Apparently over three years ago, I first listened to this song…a cover from a man named Jonathan Young of a song by a man named Kenshi Yonezu. I hadn’t yet seen the anime adaptation this was made for, and I hadn’t yet subscribed. I stumbled across a little game on Roblox that, while not outstanding, reflected the My Hero Academia games that can be found on the platform today. The game’s title sequence still sticks with me…it used this very cover of the song as a background track, and it also credited you on it. When I first heard this song, I was going through a tough time in my life, and I was struggling to find myself. This song and My Hero Academia helped me through that time, and have since stuck with me through it and defined who I am today. There’s no way to know for sure an outcome that never came to be, but I think I can say for certain that this song changed my life forever. So, from a somebody on the internet…thank you, Jonathan. I _genuinely_ don't understand why these English-language versions of the opening and ending theme songs aren't used as the official versions of the opening and ending theme songs of these shows. Not just this channel. If the voice for Momonga in the Overlord Abridged show gets picked to be Momonga for the official English Dub (for however many people watch the dub instead of the sub), then I have no understanding of why they don't give some sort of payment to independent creators for their independent creations like this and the stuff by other channels like Studio Yuraki.
