Ugh, Naruto Online is one of those sponsorship deals that forces the creator of the content to be a total sell-out. Both of the other creators I've seen do the deal have come back later to say it was a mistake because it's a genuinely terrible game that and the publisher only allows good things to be said about it in sponsorship deals. Every pitch sounds so forced. Plus, the game uses Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm (a MUCH better Naruto game series) cutscene footage in its promotional material, and that's just dirty and totally false advertising.

Anime America has also talked about it once; in fact, AA member Robyn has admitted that she finds it easier to follow the story in Naruto Online since she can barely keep up with the filler. Kinda can't blame her there... I have no opinion of the game itself, as I have not played it, but if a game or company is sponsoring a KZbinr that kinda needs that money, I tend to go easier on them then I do when a random ad not made by said KZbinr literally interrupts a video. And about ads for the game using other games' footage, I've honestly found worse instances such as Pokemon mobile ripoffs that simply use the intro from Pokken Tournament as the ad. That's it, just the intro from that game. Not even trying there -_-

fun fact about darkened skye, the dev who made literally went "if i have to make this game, i quit" then she got drunk thinking she'll have to find a new career, but then realized she could make a dark fantasy game like she always wanted, entirely because of the weird lord of the rings esc adds, (also the publisher wanted to bail because they were so enamoured by the game on it's own that they thought it would do better without the license)
@comfyghost3 жыл бұрын
bonus fact, this game entirely exists because the mnm's crash bandicoot clone was a success somehow (no wonder the dev wanted to walk away)

11:55 except the vast majority dynaty warriors games actually have more depth than that one, or that most people think they have superficially; it has been just relatively recently that they've lost most of their dept... at the least in the mainline series, spin offs (and specially the samurai warrior series) meanwhile, get all fun stuff. Such as unique skills per-character, character archetypes and unique ways they can interact with the stages, light strategy elements where you get to control multiple characters at the same time and command the ones you are not in direct control of via a strategy menu; Multiple interconnected stages where achieving objectives in one will allow you to execute actions in the following ones that will vary from a small advantage to downright changing how the stage progresses, different combo branches aimed at enemy officers or enemy mooks/mobility... and that was ALL just the Samurai Warriors games alone; The latest one piece game completely revamped the musou system into a equip-able skill one with cooldowns, Hyrule warriors age of calamity takes tons of cues from samurai and adds zelda mechanics to it too. Hell, going back to the first (real) warriors game (DW2 in the west) that game was borderline a straight up ancient military combat sim, where rushing ahead with no thought would get you absolutely slaughtered by common mooks, and you actively had to rely on coordinating with your allied AI and helping open a path to them so that you had proper back up; Bows in that game being the absolutely terrifying bringers of death they where in actual history and absolutely top tier, enough that they where the one main way to counter horse mounted enemies who could not be hit by 99% of regular attacks... And that is not going into the deeper, borderline strategy game like systems that where present in it (and DW3) where enemy and allied units where actually that, units, with different ranks formations and affiliations that actually affected how they acted in the map, and how they reacted to having different parts of each defeated ( in DW2 and I believe 3, when a regular ass mook comes into conflict with another mook anywhere in the map, the game treats it as their directly affiliated officers coming in direct combat, and taking care of that affiliated officer would route all the mooks and, sometimes, lesser officers under them... though managing to do so was hellishly hard); DW3 in particular adding the ability to taunt enemies and engage in one-on-one duels that had different wining conditions depending on the difference in rank between who you where playing and who you engaged ( Just tying with a far superior ranked officer is considered a win, while doing so with a lower ranked officer is a loss, and an equal ranked one a proper tie ). Basically, Original Dynasty Warriors (again, 2 in the west) used to be the arcade-ey equivalent to what would become mount and blade combat (like ace combat is the arcade-ey equivalent to full on flight sims). Just hate it when people claim the Musou series has no dept... because it is there... It has been slowly chipped off from the series, turning it into the mindless button masher people think it is, but its still there. ... Look, I just really fucking hate when people dont give warriors games their due, cuz I've LONG suffered having some of the best entries in the series (some that specifically fix the deteriorating depth issue) not brought to the west precisely because of people who shit on it and give it a bad name.

Obscure Media Which James Bond Games specifically? I rember some od them being pretty bad, like 007 Legends, which is deeply flawed in many aspects (shooting is mediocre at best, the grwphics are really ugly, and makes itnreally hard to see in some maps; half of the multiplayer maps are so dark that you can't see where you're going; there's no way to lower the enemy alert level, if you accidentily set of an alarm; bodys can set of alarms, but can't be dragged, etc)

N64 version of TWINE is great, Agent Under Fire, Nightfire(PC and console versions are different but both great), Everything or Nothing, FRWL, Quantum of Solace and Bloodstone. Won't say Goldeneye Wii since that was a recent one that got some attention, and remains a loved Wii game. 007 Legends was rushed to meet Slyfall's release (a big mistake). For some reason I cannot possibly fathom, Atari back in the '80s licensed Al Lewis (the actor who played Grampa from the TV show The Munsters) to appear in a very late release for the Atari 7800 called Midnight Mutants. He doesn't appear as his character from The Munsters, he's just called "grandpa". I'm not sure how this came about, considering the legendary and notorious cheapness of Jack Tramiel who owned Atari at that time. He wouldn't spend a dime if he didn't have to, so I have no clue why the totally unnecessary license was acquired, especially considering you don't play him, you play his grandchild and Grandpa is locked away in a "plasmic pumpkin" the entire game. Regardless of that, it's actually my favorite game on the system. It's a nice little adventure game with really large bosses to fight.
