Bola's Story (Exchange Blood Transfusions)

Life-saving sickle cell treatment is highlighted in a new video sharing Bola's Story.
The Sickle Cell Society have collaborated with Terumo Blood and Cell Technologies to highlight a life-saving piece of medical technology for sickle cell and the need for ethnically matched blood
Three years ago Bola was close to dying, she was in ICU with pneumonia. None of the treatments were working until they tried an Exchange Blood Transfusion.
Presented by Terumo Blood and Cell Technologies this video shares Bola's story and highlights the importance of access to medical technologies and increasing blood donation.

Thank you for the enlightenment. Congratulations to Bola. I need help please for this has been the experience of my first child ( Praise) the experience is horrible that each time his crisis comes we conclude we may loose him! The pain is always unbearable even we as parent weep most of the time for him. If you can help please, we will be glad to accept this offer, he has been a warrior from birth leading us to warring for survival. We will be waiting for your feedback please.

In Saudi Arabia doctor advised to take medicine called Hydroxyurea . It is good and help to reduce the pain and visiting hospital specially ICU . So ask doctor for more information , I hope this help you coz I know how the pain feels. I’m 38 old but my mom still crying if I need blood or ICU
