At the time, Nick slept with Bridget and thought he got her pregnant. Ridge was pursuing Brooke with Stephanie's blessing and they used the situation to their advantage. Brooke did end up leaving Nick and Jackie blamed Stephanie. When Jackie confronted Stephanie, she accused her of lusting sexually after Ridge. And Stephanie slapped her as a result. When Jackie told Nick, he got angry, stormed over to Stephanie's house and threatened her. It was war ever since lol
