But they give her cancer and then she has cancer for just a few episodes, and after that it's back to focusing on Brooke's love life. The writers clearly just don't care about Macy. It _is_ the Brooke show.

It's certainly never been the Macy show. They've given Macy nothing but grief and tragedy from the start And then we have Brooke whose only tragedy has been never getting Ridge to choose her. Honestly she's never had to deal with anything. Even when something tragic like her father supposedly dying happens, her focus is all about having to leave Ridge to go to Paris

Thorne and Macy are so good together in this episode’s scenes - they so convincingly signal chemistry and love - that it’s painful to watch them knowing what’s coming for poor Macy. I’d actually say Thorne is the victim here as well because Darla basically s*xually assaulted him (sleeping with someone when you KNOW they’re too inebriated to know who the hell you are is a form of assault), but clearly the show is retconning this before our eyes, so he will soon be the bad guy.

I agree - I just said the same the other episode about how Thorne and Macy actually _work_ as a couple here, which makes it all the sadder that they are about to break up over something that was not Thorne's fauIt. But now, with the way Thorne treats Darla, it is clear that now we are supposed to feel for her rather than for him. However, Thorne is in a really difficult situation and he's just as heartbroken as Macy is by the news of her hysterectomy. His reaction is seIfish but understandable.

After some moments of happiness, Macy is back to normaI, i.e. going from one crisis to the next. In the few short months since she came back from the dead, she had to move to a new country at a moment's notice and leave everything behind, her mother nearly died of a heart attack, she had to say goodbye to her father with little hope of ever seeing him again, her husband slept with her best friend, she found out she had fertiIity problems, then she found out she had fertiIity problems _and cancer,_ she had major surgery, and now it turns out her best friend is pregnant with her husband's baby just as Macy is about to learn that she will never bear children of her own. Oh yeah, and she's still a recovering alcoholic. And there's a chandelier out there with her name on it. Welcome back indeed, Macy.

​@@FayeILright. Nobody can be that unlucky in life. The one time I remember Macy having a happy ending was after the Anthony unaliving Ivana saga and she and Thorne 2 were finally married. I don't know why they couldn't just have Macy come back this time, finally marry Thorne, have a baby, and let them fade into the happily ever after, like Kristin and Tony. They really didn't need to prolong macy's suffering, just to give Thorne a storyline this stupid and unnecessary anyway.

Somehow, Brooke will make herself the victim in regards to Ridge's paternity. Interesting, that Ridge could never rely on the emotional part of the relationship with Brooke, always went to others.

The writers were so busy giving Macy tragedy and dismantling our beloved Spectra fam, that they missed the opportunity for maybe Kristin and Thorne to actually bond as bro and sis and have a really lovely adoption story, with Kristin supporting Macy thru the process. Much better than this awful Darla /Thorne /Macy madness.

According to one article I read it was the other way around. Bell couldn't think of a storyline for Macy so he put her in a coma indefinitely until he could figure out what to do with the character. And that's when BE auditioned for another show. It's pretty obvious in the writing in those episodes that Macy wasn't supposed to die but remain in the coma, and the death was (very sIoppiIy) written into the script when BE got the job at AMC.

@@annieo6527 Her first air date on AMC was 2 months after she was off B& B Since they tape a few months ahead of airing I figured she left B& B and they wrote her out instead of recasting. I’m sure they had her on recurring ,so good for her for accepting a contracted role I sure do miss Macy though.
