I don't think that was what she was doing. I think she has made a promise to Wyatt and her promises and vows mean something to her. She loves Wyatt, and unfortunately, she is married to him and she has promised him that if Quinn will be out of their lives, she will come back. She is keeping her promise even though her heart is breaking. But at the same time, Liam does deserve a taste of his own medicine. For years, even now (apart from the horrible mistake with Bill), Steffy has fought for their love and connection while he waffled because of some long time ago made promise to Hopeless. I think he needs a taste of his own medicine in 2020 for what he has put Steffy through. In my heart, they are soulmates and do belong together, it's just his turn to fight.
