Wouldn't have mattered if the property had even been in the close neighborhood of the Forrester Mansion - Caroline didn't even want to look at the brochures after she realized that Thorne wanted them to move. Thorne has told her that they could keep looking if she didn't like the brochures - but Caroline only wanted them to stay at the Mansion. In another episode she told Ridge that she loves to be able to bond with Ridge living at the same place. (and so constantly meeting him at the breakfast table, dinner table..., watching from her window Ridge at the pool with his date).
