Thorne and Donna were never really that serious, they had just had a few awkward dates (like the one where Donna ordered a whole bottle of expensive champagne for herself after Thorne had said he didn't want anything to drink - and he was undoubtedly paying). And the one time Macy and Jake were romantic (so far) he had broken things off with Felicia and was already dating other women. Right now Jake is in love with Macy but she doesn't quite go for it, at least not yet.
