Yes, because Brooke is such a vulnerable young woman. It's not like she spent the majority of their marriage pining for his son, barely paid attention to their son, openly admitted she didn't want to carry his child and humiliated him by sleeping with his son. I like Brooke, but don't act like the dissolution of her marriage to Eric was his fault. He was in love with her while she barely tolerated him and humiliated him. Eric was the victim, definitely not Brooke.

Here we have Eric talking about three significant women in his life (ofc there will be a couple of more added over time). He is clearly talking about stephanie, brooke and Sheila. But at this point, he had been actually in romantic love relationship with four women. So, Beth is not considered a significant woman in Eric's life in his mind. Beth has been demoted to complete ignorance and non-existence. It's like Beth was never even there.
