No shipping or family emergency this time, and Thorne still went to a business meeting, instead of supporting his wife through a difficult family matter. Even when Thorne supposedly worried about her drinking and Macy explicitly told him on the phone that she needed him, Thorne still lets her down and instead goes to discuss with John how to tell Macy that he is going to leave her..... . I don't think this is really about rooting for a couple, but more for a character. Thorne is not worthy that Macy loses control of her life because of him. I root for Macy realizing that (but I know that she won't).

​@@NewYorkNick0607exactly - even in the next episode, we remember that the _reason_ Macy is upset is that she just had a heartbreaking experience (that probably reminded her of losing her husband to cancer) and Thorne refused to be there to comfort her when she got home - so she chose _not_ to go home. And even drunk Macy is quite relatable in the next episode, reminding us of how the Brooke/Thorne relationship actually started and that Thorne was planning to marry Macy first, not Brooke.

Yes, Thorne keeps giving her mixed signals and gaslighting her. Sadly, it's gone so farnow that she will no longer be able to deal with him leaving her. If he'd been honest with her earlier, before her drinking got so bad, she might have been able to survive it.
