Now, if steph had put her foot down with Ridge about Brooke living in her house, as she is doing now with Amber about CJ... She's have saved herself years of turmoil. But aside from that, I really don't care if CJ stays there or not. I'm so not invested in what he and Amber are doing, and I'm really not invested in watching a story about a young man with money and a thriving business, being treated like he's poor and no manners - and worse, he's acting that way himself! I could understand if this was like the Drucilla Barber intro story, where she literally came from the streets to the Abbott manse and had to learn how to behave in order to stay there. But it isn't, and I can't understand why the writers are trying to make it that way with CJ. Are they trying to make us feel more understanding of Rick and his motives /actions? Hope not, bc that's failing miserably too...

Oh, the writers have *clearly* tried to retcon CJ’s character to justify Amber’s inevitable return to the Forrester fold. CJ was always a bright, personable, sensible, responsible person who, unlike Rick, wasn’t a spoiled little b*tch hiding behind Mommy and Daddy. And as you pointed out, CJ certainly has resources! It’s sad that the writers couldn’t trust an actual, well-matched love triangle.

Exactly. I like CJ (and the actor) but I just don't care about his relationship with Amber and don't buy his fatherly feelings for Little Eric because all of that happened SO fast. Rick is a twerp but at least he had a year with the baby so it makes sense why he would think of Little Eric as his son.

A few months ago, Rick didn't want anything to do with Amber, but now that she is in a relationship with CJ, he wants her back. It seems like all of Brooke's children learned well from their mother: "I want you, then I don't want you. I want you back, then I don't want you.”

CJ walks in on Amber and Rick while Rick is feeling sorry for... someone (himself? his mother? the viewers?). Amber tells CJ how this is a "terrible situation for Rick's family" and well, I guess the part where _Rick's_ wife and sister died is somewhere in one of those other missing episodes. 🙄 Oh, and Rick also has an opinion on CJ and Amber's sleeping arrangements in the guest house, because of course he does. And we also missed another flashback with the opera aria.

Ridge keeps suffering through a special nightmare. Once coming home to a surprise magazine photo shot about the TRIDGE family, learning his wife has agreed for them all to take part in a series of articles about their family. Now coming to work to learn that his _colleague/former lover/current pregnant nemesis_ is talking to the reporter about the TRIDGE family, without ever discussing that with Ridge first. He failed to take control of his own life (failed to tell Morgan that, even with Taylor's permission, he does not want to sleep with Morgan and father her child) and now that he keeps getting treated like being just a statist in a movie about his own life.

CJ has to learn the hard way. Story time 😀. I competed with a friend for a woman that he was with first in my early 20's. There was a mutual attraction/crush between the woman and I but my friend acted fast and impregnated her during a night of drunken sex while I was content to enjoy the flirtation period for as long as it would last (I was a soap fan then too, lol). He left during the pregnancy so I assisted her financially, attended the lemaze classes and everything that he as the father wouldn't do. Long story short: He came back when the baby was a year old, she ditched me and they picked up where they left off. Moral of the story: A woman can only change her own feelings, no one else can. C.J. is fighting a losing battle.

Poor Ridge really suffers some bad karma here. 😅He had been annoying when he had kept reminding Morgan about their past and pushing Morgan for an explanation for breaking up with him decades ago, ignoring her _Let it go_ and even manhandling her (scene when Ridge ended up on Morgan on the floor). Now Morgan is chosing the worst person, the reporter doing a series on the TRIDGE family, to bring up that past affair again, ignoring all sense of tact, not showing any care for Ridge's feelings/wishes.
