Stephanie found out shortly after this that Deacon was the father. This would have been the PERFECT amunition she needed to get rid of Brooke, FOREVER! But Stephanie chose not to tell the family or the press, because she knew what it would do to FC's reputation(of course that could easily be fixed by firing Brooke) and that it would devastate Bridget, who is the REAL victim here.

In case anyone is wondering, yes, the public and the media DO know that Ridge IS NOT Hope's biological father because after Brooke's pregnancy was revealed, the reporters starting asking the Forrester men if any of them was the father and Ridge was the FIRST one that they asked. Bridget would've had tears in her eyes and buried her face in her hands. The reporters would've wanted to talk to Bridget but she'd push them away telling them to leave her alone and would've run off. Brooke and Deacon would've tried to go after her but the reporters would've gotten in their way. Eric, Rick, Ridge and Thorne would be standing there with their eyes and mouths open wide. Stephanie would've been watching the reporters swarm around Brooke and be smiling in satisfaction believing that they're finally going to get rid of Brooke once and for all and get their company back. The family would've immediately and unanimously voted her out as CEO. They'd tell her that her bedroom line and Belief formula are going as after this scandal they can not have any connection of her in FC again. Basically, Stephanie would've finally won!

Deacon wanted to raise Hope with Brooke, he really did. But Brooke wouldn't let him. I don't think Hope really knows how much Deacon loved her because Brooke doesn't tell her, she's far too busy trying to get Hope to see Ridge as her father. When Hope was a baby and Brooke wouldn't let Deacon near Hope, Macy snuck Hope out of Brooke's place so Deacon could spend some time with her. Brooke was not thrilled.
