When Massimo first came on the show, he had a never-before-mentioned romantic history with Stephanie, which resulted in a surprise son. Now he has an equally underdeveloped romantic history with Jackie, resulting in another surprise son. There is something about a _whole family_ built on retcons that just damages the entire dynamic of the show. It causes a break from the show's history that can't be repaired as long as those characters exist. And Bell didn't understand this but went on to do the _same thing_ again with the "new Spencers". DoIIar Bill is basically another Massimo Marone, with Liam as Ridge and Wyatt as Nick.

So Brooke is the one who told deacon to leave because it was the only way to repair her relationship with Bridget and to avoid a scandal (never mind Brooke still being allowed in the child’s life). Deacon had agreed and now that he wants to be in hopes life now all of a sudden he’s looked at as the bad guy for deciding he wants to be involved in his own child’s life just because it reminds her of how she treated her daughter? And of course to make Brooke more sympathetic Nick who’s basically a stranger didn’t blink an eye that she so casually revealed she had her son in laws baby and is still interested in her.

It is obvious that Brooke no longer cares about Deacon being around and how it will affect bridgit. She basically doesn't want to be reminded of her own bad doing by making Deacon disappear out her life so she can go on pretending none of this happened.

Macy self-soothing by hugging herself at the end, tears in her eyes, was just . . .very raw and real. BE is just too good for the writing she gets on this show. For her sake, I’m glad she left when she did.

She is _ki II ing_ these baby scenes. And yes, she left the sinking ship at the last moment (to use a nautical metaphor in honor of our least favorite Nick, not to be confused with our most favorite Nick). It's moments like this that make it impossible to see Macy as the antagonist in this storyline, no matter what Bell's intention is.

When Deacon walks in on Macy singing to Hope, Macy has almost exactly the same look on her face as the other day when Sally caught her with her hand on the whisky decanter. She looks _guilty,_ as if she was caught doing something she wasn't supposed to, or as if she had exposed a part of herself, a secret desire, that she didn't want anyone else to see. For a moment, it was as if Macy got carried away and allowed herself to fantasize about being a mother. And then when Hope left, Macy had to say "bye-bye" to that fantasy, realizing that she had only "borrowed" what wasn't hers. That look on Macy's face of being "caught in the act" implies an odd but suggestive connection between Macy's addiction and her connection with children. Just as she wanted a drink even though it wasn't healthy for her, now she enjoys spending time with a child even though it may not be healthy for her.
