Stephanie in 2001 already argued with Massimo's narrative about their great college romance, when according to Stephanie Massimo in college had been a *playboy* (loved by many) while Eric had been the reliable and focused one. You know what these latest Payne/Marone scenes remind me of? Have you ever gone to a restaurant or a dinner party where you were served a dessert, like a pastry, that looked like a work of art? Beautifully crafted, decorated, had everything and the kitchen sink thrown at it? And then you bite into it, and it’s dry, tasteless, or too sweet? So no matter how much they put on the dessert, you can’t get past the fact that the essential thing itself is just of no interest. Well, that’s what the Paynes are to me.

He didn’t get anymore clues that what he already had but I guess the writers were just ready to reveal it.

Good grief, the size of the wine goblets Massimo and Jackie are drinking from . . .and yet still not enough wine to make this storyline interesting. On the other hand, hearing Massimo’s and Jackie’s backstory and the tragic interference of her husband was super engrossing - nah, just kidding, still don’t give a damn about any of these people. And I resent that they’re taking Spectra screen time. Side note: Eric broke up with Stephanie and called her all kinds of horrible names because she had someone else’s baby *without knowing it*, from a liaison that was over before she married him. Yet Eric has *no* problems with Jackie, a woman who was openly cheating on her husband with Massimo? Hypocrite much? And are we supposed to see Jackie as the victim of a tragically derailed love affair when she was outright cheating on her husband? Guess we see why she feels such an instant affinity for Brooke.

Ridge just felt Brooke was taking too long, and interpreted that as his father still having a chance with Brooke, so he chose his father over Brooke, followed Taylor to Saint Thomas, and apparently had an epiphany there (he said).

@annieo6527 He is always having these don't take it seriously. Brooke was right to give Eric the time he needed. She didn't want father and son to suffer more and wanted to keep the peace as much as she could. It could have been a bad decision as they would have been together with Ridge. Taylor took full advantage of this. I believe she knew Ridge may try to find her. The fact is that Ridge saw how grateful brooke was for Eric saving Eric he thought he just couldn't compete . So he went to his next choice. Also I just remembered how little eric was taking the split up badly and crying all the time. This is rediculas children adapt. Taylor gave self serving advice that Eric should be there when the baby awoke and again at night before he went to bed. That's stupid. She just wanted to break Ridge and Brooke up.

@@rosmarygiovani actually, Brooke was wrong to give Eric time. She was giving Eric faIse hope by staying in the apartment (which Stephanie warned Brooke about). In fact, Eric was about to let Brooke have the divorce that very day, when she came to him and told him she had agreed to his deaI (staying with him for a few months and then getting an easy divorce). Eric was bIuffing and Stephanie, who knew him better, told Brooke that but Brooke wouldn't listen. If Brooke had only done what Stephanie advised her to do she would have ended up with Ridge in 1991. Stephanie told Brooke that she shouldn't wait because then Ridge would lose patience and turn to Taylor, and that is exactly what happened. I don't think Taylor meant for Ridge to find her because she had specifically told her secretary _not_ to reveal her location to Ridge.

She had been begging him all her life. She was available to him when she was married to Eric( she dreamed of marrying Ridge the day of her wedding with Eric) She wanted Ridge while pregnant with Rick She was free and with Ridge's daughter when he preferred Taylor She begged him after the Grant trial to be together but he wanted Taylor again and then, when Taylor told him Thomas was Thorne's, he gave another chance to Brooke pining for Taylor all along. When he found out Thomas was his son he asked the annulment to be with Taylor. Do you know he could have asked the annulment of his marriage with Taylor after the first Bridget s paternity test? But he didn't. And Taylor made all the efforts to prevent Ridge pursuing her in S. Thomas. I guess it was destiny there...the time was perfect

You know this just proves how ridge makes spontaneous decisions about what suits him that particular moment. We can see how he jumps from one woman to the other. Divorcing one day and marrying the next. Because Brooke is simular maybe that's why I think they are very alike and why they can't stay together.
