I love how Sally reassured Macy, and counteracted the insecurities planted by Brooke, by making Macy laugh about the whole situation - telling her how she didn't need to worry about Deacon sleeping with his mother-in-law again because "the man is simply not my type!" 😂 Sally is the best mom. ❤

"Where your marriage is concerned, I am the judge, jury and ex e cu tion er." Are we _sure_ the writers are really trying to portray Brooke as the romantic heroine? @@Phillybags that is an interesting read, but I wonder if it's really what's going on. After all, Brooke isn't acting any different here than she does every time she interacts with Macy. She talked to Macy like this already in 1999.

That's what I thought too: what kind of strange writing is this from Bell's people? Are we supposed to think that Brooke is a powerful, impressive figure when she talks like that (much like Massimo does when he wants to achieve something)? Now I always laugh at her attempts to impress others with her egocentricity. Actually, you can only find it ridiculous.

@@PhillybagsAgree that Brooke is acting out what Macy keeps accusing her of…being a home-wrecker. Brooke is not interested in Deacon. She is just toying with Macy’s insecurities about her! Brooke wants to be with Ridge… she doesn’t want Deacon or Nick.😮 Brooke, here is making idol threats to Macy. And I think deep down Macy is fearful that Brooke can do just what she says. 😳 The writers seem to be trying to pull all kinds of tricks out of the hat with their silly writing. 😅

Note the role reversal between Rick and Amber. Just a few episodes ago, Rick was the one overreacting and Amber was the reasonable one who didn't have a problem with Eric spending time with Deacon. Now, all of a sudden, Rick is trying to calm Amber down by saying that Eric is simply going on vacation with his "other dad", while Amber is panicking.

It's a really jarring transition. It's like Brad chose to change directions with this storyline as he developed it. Clearly the storyline's end destination is the destruction of Rick and Amber's marriage. Apparently the only way for that to happen is for Amber to be the one to "screw up" again. She couldn't leave this marriage with a shred of dignity.

Amber spitting out “How could you do this to me” to Deacon while Little Eric was still in the room was sort of shocking, but effective foreshadowing. Here *Deacon* is the one who calmly and appropriately asks Clarke to take Little Eric out while Deacon talks to Amber. This role reversal from earlier days signals the power balance is about to shift: Deacon will be the responsible parent, while Amber will spiral further and act more and more inappropriately until, ironically, she herself brings about the outcome (losing Little Eric) she so deeply wanted to avoid. This episode also illustrated how Brooke and Rick’s shenanigans made things worse. Deacon won’t even consider an adoption at this point (he’s right not to do so; he knows he’ll never get visitation without legal power), whereas he might have been open to formalized shared custody before if the Forresters had played ball.
@annieo652713 күн бұрын
Exactly! In this episode we see Brooke showing up uninvited to the wedding to try to stop it, and Amber losing her composure, while Macy, Deacon and the Spectras are the aduIts in the room who not only keep it together themselves, but also try to gIoss over the other's bad behavior for the child's sake (allowing Brooke to stay in the chapel even though she wasn't invited, reassuring Little Eric that Brooke was going to be fine after she ran out, making sure that Eric left the chapel before Amber made a scene). And the shift where Deacon is no longer cooperating is brought about by his realization that Amber and Rick are not willing to meet him half way. If he is going to have any contact with his son _at all,_ he needs to have custody. And, ironically, when he has that power, _he_ is willing to work with Amber and Rick the way they weren't willing to work with him. (I don't know how this works in California, but where I live, a parent can actually lose custody of their child if they are unwilling to work with the other parent towards ensuring that the child has access to both parents. Custody usually favors the parent who is the most willing to cooperate.)

Nicky and Ridge’s little chat was another illustration of how Brooke is *never* allowed to be wrong. Nicky tells Ridge Deacon and Macy’s wedding is the latter’s fault, because Ridge provided the lawyer who gave the advice about the restraining order, which made Deacon so mad he proposed. But how is that Ridge’s fault? The lawyer doesn’t know the players and can only offer advice based on the information given to him by the client - Brooke. And Brooke knows Deacon better than Rick or Amber or even Ridge. She should have been able to predict that Deacon ywouldn’t take that restraining order lying down, but she was so focused on lashing out and getting a win in her column that she did not stop to think what this would mean for the kids, long-term. But, of course, nobody is allowed to say that, so Ridge gets the blame.
@annieo652713 күн бұрын
Yes - and Brooke was the one who told the lawyer to go ahead with the restraining order, and then told herself how this would mean that Macy would never see those kids again - while at the same time the "vindictive" Macy was trying to get along with Amber and talking about how they would all be one big happy family.
