Douglas fears for his life when he realizes how angry his father is at him. Thomas is quick to apologize realizing the boy has information on where he can find Hope. Ridge learns that Douglas has told Thomas where Hope is and separately, he and Brooke race against time to reach the cliff house before Thomas does.

Ridge and Brooke's marriage started to get bad the minute thom-ass was obssessing over Hope,ridge was angry because he knew all that Brooke was saying was true and couldn't stand the fact she was right all along.ridge thinks his evil spawns can do no wrong and he picks up for them everytime when he knows they definately wrong but honestly that is why they will always be like that and won't change,he never let them suffer the consequences for their actions.

Douglas did what he had to do, unlike Flo, Shauna, Zoe, Xander, and you, Thomas. You just had to run Emma off the road to forever shut her up and keep the truth about Beth from Hope and Liam.

and does it again when he figures out thomas uses his voice game app to sabotage brooke and say she called CPS so he could marry taylor.. douglas tells steffy and steffy reveals it during the wedding causing ridge to know the truth, brooke to know the truth and understand the confusion she was having and reuniting brooke and ridge later down the road after taylor tries to set brooke up with deacon and hollis so she has a clear path to ridge after vowing together that they were done with ridge after decades even tho ridge always chose brooke lol and brooke saying the vow is dead cause taylor tried to secretly get with ridge.

This. 100%. Twitter is irrational about this. He has changed for the most part *now* but during/after that period he should not have even had partial custody of that child for a long time. (And he did another round of emotional abuse on that kid several months after this). Ridge was so extra problematic during this time, also - what he was doing was equivalent to blaming a victim of abuse and/or pushing them to stay in an abusive relationship. I say all of this as someone who 100% enjoys Thope *now*.

When Hope said she was getting an annulment why did Ridge say "don't you think you should talk to Thomas first" even though Hope did talk to Thomas on the phone if she didn't talk to Thomas what does it matter?
