When I try to play thumb over I have no air under my fingers with the length of my hands. Thumb over, my palm is up against the back of the neck I can kind of play major chords with a root on the low E, but I can’t get a minor chord voiced this way. I definitely can’t thumb over the root on the A string. I love Hendrix and I’d love to see/hear anyone play a tune like ‘Bold as Love’ with the ‘traditional’, for lack of a better word, barre chord shapes. I wonder if I need to shave down the width of my necks? I’ve been practicing this on and off for a year.. I just don’t have that length. Any suggestions for when many of my guitar heroes are able to employ a technique that doesn’t fit for me? Thx
