@FayeIL4 ай бұрын
Today’s Stephanie/Brooke scene was an embarrassment of riches, but I think my favorite line was Stephanie vocalizing that the glue uniting Thorne and Brooke for so long was their determination to defy her, their thrill of the chase. Yes! That’s what we’ve been saying in the comments for so long now! And this line finally heals the somewhat fractured nature of the writing we saw at the beginning of Thorne and Brooke, where on some days they would show us the tawdry reality of those two, but on other days use cheap tricks like romantic music and blurry lighting to make them seem like a truly romantic pairing. But having Stephanie call out their garbage makes it official canon. As we know, Stephanie is a reliable narrator (or as @NewYorkNick0607 calls her, the storyteller), so by allowing Stephanie to vocalize that Thorne and Brooke were never truly a romantic couple, the show is making it official and telling us it’s time to move on. Onward to Deacon 😂.
@annieo65274 ай бұрын
Yes! I have been talking about the double narrative throughout the Brooke/Thorne storyline, and how it was always kept open whether their relationship was love or just a unhealthy ob ses sion. Then after the wedding it seemed like the show had decided on the (unconvincing) "it was love" narrative. That's why it's so satisfying hearing Stephanie restore the balance by restating _every part_ of the "reliable narrative" that had been silent for several months, finally telling us that this narrative was the correct one all along. And it feels _right_ - like at last the "narrative vertigo" ends and we are once again on soIid ground in the storytelling. The characters and their motivations are back to normaI. Another thing that was really satisfying to hear put into words (and into canon) was Thorne admitting that Macy was right all along about him and Brooke, and acknowledging what a complete fooI he was for leaving her.
@FayeIL4 ай бұрын

@@FayeILgreat posts from you and @AnnieO I always felt that Thorne and Brooke's relationship was just too exaggerated and not natural. But that part actually fit in to Brooke's relationship persona for me. She literally cannot do anything else but make her relationships into some kind of side show at the circus.. It must be a competition she must win.. Whether with Ridge, Eric, or Thorne. And if she does marry or attempt to marry someone else, it's bc there is some ulterior motive (like James or Grant). Steph really puts everything back into perspective here very nicely and allows us to remember the real Brooke Forrester Forrester Forrester 😂 Meanwhile, on another note.. I mentioned in another comment how telling it is that Brooke's idea of relationship is seduction.. Otherwise she might as well become a nun if she can't use her body. It's like she just doesn't understand that relationships are more than just passion and seduction.. Anything else means the person is frigid or just have no relationships at all (kind of reminds me of Eric during his mid life crises as well). And finally... Can Brooke pls get the heck outta Steph's cabin?? Go to a motel where u can be alone, Brooke. But, since she insists on being there.... Stephanie biggest hypocrite. Masimo😅

Brooke is immature and does bad things. No doubt. But I can’t understand all the praise for Stephanie. Flannery as an actress - absolutely - but Stephanie is a terrible person! She continuously interferes in her adult children’s lives - mostly to get what she wants, pays no attention to her own marriage - then get mad when it falls apart. I don’t get it.

Stephanie is knocking some uppercuts like Mike Tyson with facts, but we know the human trampoline in the words of Diddy "can't stop won't stop" running after ridge with no shame
