A number of commenters here posited from the very beginning that Morgan was Taylor’s punishment for not looking out for Macy, and it’s interesting to see that really come into focus in these recent episodes. In fact, in the last episode Clark explicitly tells Taylor that karma is coming for her because of a Macy. Furthering the theme, in this episode Ridge must take his “punishment” from Morgan. Moreover, Taylor is essentially being pushed into Macy’s role here - she’s the clueless wife whose happiness and even physical safety will be threatened by her husbands past with another woman. Some great, inadvertently hilarious lines in this episode: Ridge, sobbing to himself! “What did I doooooo?”” Me: “Morgan.” Clarke: “What does Ridge know?” Morgan: “Everything! Ridge knows everything!” Me: “Well, there’s a statement you don’t hear too often.”
@TriniT218 ай бұрын
😂😂😂 I loved your responses 😂 Ridge : "You did warn me.. I should have listened!" Me: slowly pulls out the I TOLD YOU SO TSHIRTS
@annieo65278 ай бұрын
Yes - this "karma" is a nice connection between the storylines and one that has existed ever since Brooke made Morgan her "liaison" after Venice, but which has been made expIicit by Clarke lately. Also we had Ridge fall for a scheme just like the one he himself was part of in Venice, and as you say Taylor is now in the Macy position of being the wife who will eventually find out a secret that will devastate her. I think in these episodes after the funeral, the show has really downplayed Sally's reactions. She is the only Spectra who _doesn't_ want to get back at any Forrester, while CJ, Kimberly and Clarke are all in their own ways avenging Macy's death. And we only see her in scenes supporting Kimberly or CJ, while we don't get any scenes of anyone supporting Sally. In fact, we barely see Sally at all.
@leviaj18 ай бұрын
@@annieo6527What a missed opportunity for Darlene Conley to give a powerful dramatic performance. Exploring Sally's experience of mourning and coming to terms with Macy's death would be more moving and compelling than any of the stories playing out right now.

Ridge _slept with Morgan,_ with the intention of getting her pregnant. This makes it very difficult to see him as an innocent vic tim in this situation, regardless of how much he is trying to make it look that way. He is completely and unambiguously responsible for putting himself in this mess, simply because he should have known better. Even if Taylor had hypothetically asked him to do this for Morgan, he didn't have to agree to it. This whole storyline hinges on Ridge being an object Taylor can let Morgan borrow, kind of like her Iaptop.
@jgoldfarb38 ай бұрын
Yes he should have known better, but couldn’t control himself! My heart goes out to Taylor.
@bettyhopson8 ай бұрын
It is totally unbelievable that Ridge would go there with Morgan because Taylor said it was OK. Ridge needed to turn down Morgan in the worst way if he did not want to do this? (And he did this sober). How Morgan was able to pull this off is beyond understanding and comprehension. IMO 😮 Not to mention that Morgan is acting like she has mental problems and that completely goes over the heads of Taylor and Ridge? 🤷♀️ The writers had to dumb down Taylor and Ridge for this absurd storyline! 🥴
@mara44508 ай бұрын
Ridge is a victim of Morgan tricking him into thinking Taylor was okay with Ridge fathering that child the natural way. He should tell his wife about Morgan's actions (using the mail as proof). But yes, I have a hard time to have any sympathy for Ridge and his current forcefulness, wanting Morgan to have an abortion, when that same man had discussed with Morgan that he does NOT just want to be a donor but wants to be involved in that child's life.
@TriniT218 ай бұрын
Exactly @AnnieO... I just think there is no way that Ridge could "perform" to complete the task at hand, if on some level he didn't *want* to. I can't imagine he was lying on top of Morgan, thinking... Taylor's gonna be so proud of me for following her exact email instruction! 😒

@NewYorkNick06078 ай бұрын
*Morgan and Brooke* We've discussed how Morgan's storyline has echoes of Sheila's storyline but this part of the plot now echoes Brooke. It's a replay of when Ridge married Taylor the first time and then discovered that Brooke was pregnant, which he wasn't thrilled about either! And both times Stephanie and Ridge were aware of the secret before Taylor. In this parallel, Eric was the Clarke option who Brooke didn't want and there was question over whether he was the baby's father. And both Brooke and Morgan used their pregnancies to wreak havoc in Tridge's marriage. Of course that's where the similarities end. Brooke wasn't a villain like Morgan but the parallel once again connects the two of them. Recall that Brooke brought Morgan to LA and wanted to use her to get revenge on Ridge and Taylor - she's the punishment for what they did to Brooke in Venice. And Morgan is at least partly doling that punishment out by redoing Brooke's storyline.

@@FayeIL Ha! True. So Brooke's getting a double benefit out of this.

Big difference though we saw Brooke and Ridge’s complicated off and on history played out on screen. Ridge’s relationship with Morgan happened off screen long ago. We really know nothing of what went on between Ridge and Morgan other than he thinks, Morgan dumped him? And that Stephanie facilitated an ab for a teen pregnant Morgan. 😮 It is ironic though that Ridge is paying a price here for trickery being played on him by Morgan whom Brooke hired to work at FC to get back at Eric and Ridge. 😂
@annieo65278 ай бұрын
True! And, as you've pointed out, this is _also_ a Morgan/Sheila connection because Sheila would also do things that benefited Brooke but that Brooke, as a non-villain, couldn't do herself.
