I think Samantha was cast to put doubt in the viewers mind . They wanted us thinking that Ridge would leave Brooke and be available for her, after he learns about Brooke and Nicks night together. I mean why else is she on the show?Does she eventually have another love interest ? Will she just disappear as soon as she came like Taylors psychiatrist friend? Honestly, I don’t know because I hadn’t watched this season back then

Yes,but Darla and Sally have a history of friendship and Darla was willing to give Macy her baby. Brooke most recently told Macy on her wedding day not to marry Deacon or she’ll be sorry. She said she could have him back with a snap of her fingers. It’s not just about her taking Thorne from Macy.
