They insinuated that he did something wrong by bonding that dragon as if the cousins were entitled to a dragon. 3.) All he said was unless you have the courage to go and find yourself a dragon you deserve the pink dread (this was a dig at both Rhaenyra’s kids and Laenas), which is more or less what her mother told her, unless you are willing to work hard you don’t get a dragon passed from parent to child and then she just walked up to hit him. She could have basically went with that story since its the truth and ascended the Iron Throne as queen without any children and have Aegon as her successor. What Corlys means when he says "history does not remember blood, it remembers names" is that at least Laenor's sons are Velaryon. They will keep the family name going. Laena's daughters are Targaryen. Once she marries, the older's husband would be lord of Driftmark. And their family name would disappear. That's why despite those boys not being his son's, he's kinda accepted it, I guess. Driftmark is another area where a succession crisis is just looming in the distance.

Aemond didn't "steal" Vhagar anymore than Laena "stole" her from the Targaryen's. Both rightfully claimed her, and if Vhagar didn't want Aemond, she would have just burned him or flown away. When a dragon is wild, there definitely seems to be some measure of them choosing you as well. I feel bad for Aemond, he was so bullied he decided that he was either going to claim Vhagar or die trying.

Exactly. A dragon isn't anyone's property and Vhagar has been around for almost 200 years, the most recent rider of Vhagar before Laena was Baelon (Viserys' father so Aemond's grandfather). Daemon's dragon was formerly bonded to Rhaenys' dad and Rhaenys' dragon was formerly bonded to Daemon's mom. So it wasn't stealing at all, Vhagar clearly chose Aemond and dragons are bonded to people from different families all the time.

Laena WAS a Targaryen, just as much a Targaryen as Alicent's children are, and Vhagar was away on her nest, riderless, without anyone in line to try bonding with her. She went through the effort of finding her and claiming her when nobody else dared to do it. Aemond on the other hand literally took advantage of the fact that they were invited to Driftmark for Laena's fueral to sneak out at night while Laena's daughters were still mouring their mother and take Vhagar before Rhaena even had a chance to try bonding with her. That IS stealing a grieving child, who is also his family, the chance of conecting with the only thing her mother left her. It doens't make things better that Aemond then decides to mock Rhaena for the fact that her mother has died and tells her that a pig would suit her better than a dragon. It was all in all a horrible thing to do, and Aemond knew it was horrible and that the adults wouldn't have allowed him to do it, that's why he did it secretly in the middle of the night when everyone else was sleeping. He just doesn't care who he hurts because he is a little psycopathic mass murderer in the making.

I felt so bad for Alicent in the beginning. Her father forced her into an extremely stressful and uncomfortable situation. She had to marry the king and pump out children. When she found out that Rhaenyra had lied to her and had sex with Criston Cole (once mind you), her jealousy and resentment skyrocketed. She had done her “duty” and what she was told…what she was told to do by her father, by the king, and by the culture/society she was raised in. She instantly decided to wear green and declare war upon Rhaenyra…and yes the king…her husband. I thought she was all about doing what was “right” and dutiful? She’s supposed to be the king’s wife first and foremost…and then her father’s daughter. Alicent did not then confront Rhaenyra and have it out with her…but instead held onto her resentment, bitterness, and hatred for her “friend” for over a decade. I understand her being upset with Rhaenyra for not telling her the truth and even for making a stupid mistake in her eyes. I get it…but I don’t at all get her holding onto all that hatred for over a decade without ever even saying anything to Rhaenyra. She held onto her bitterness, resentment, and hatred…and did everything in her power possible to make Rhaenyra’s and her children’s lives miserable. Alicent also made sure that her children and Criston Cole harbored her ire and hatred for Rhaenyra and her children too. She raised two terrible sons and instilled no decent values, integrity, nor principles in them beyond hating her “friend” and her children and desiring the throne. Beyond all that, Alicent took down all of the Targaryen artwork, iconography, and historical artifacts in the castle and replaced them with puritanical crap from the Faith of the Seven. Again, how is this being “dutiful” and true to the king? See, Alicent was anxious, stressed, repressed, and longed for a different set of circumstances for herself in the beginning. She had every right to be upset about it. Her father manipulated and forced her into an extremely uncomfortable situation and life she didn’t really want. The cultural/societal expectations and unjust hierarchy in which she was raised made her feel she had to be dutiful…and honestly, she had very little to no choice of her own along the way. Yet she didn’t attempt to change any of it for the better…not even in the slightest. She didn’t raise her children, especially her sons, to respect women and people in general and didn’t instill a sense of kindness, openness, and decency within them either. Instead, Alicent has reenforced the crappy cultural/societal expectations and unjust hierarchy that forced her into a life she didn’t really want. It’s even worse than that though…because she hasn’t just reenforced it, she’s made it more puritanical and oppressive for others. Alicent has spent a decade (plus) reenforcing and worsening the crap system, raising terrible sons that share her resentment/hatred, and doing everything possible to make Rhaenyra and her children’s lives miserable. Imagine what good she could have done if she had instead focused all that energy she spent in hating and resenting her “friend” and instead put it into making positive changes and raising decent sons. Rhaenyra, despite her mistakes, has raised decent children. Her “mistakes” weren’t brought about because of her resentment, hatred, and jealousy. She hasn’t gone out of her way to harm and harass anyone. She has simply tried to live a life she can bare while keeping up appearances. She has dared buck against the unjust system and make the best of her circumstances…and because of this, Alicent has done everything in her power to destroy Rhaenyra and her children. Alicent’s behavior is absolutely inexcusable compared to Rhaenyra’s. If Rhaenyra were a prince, no one would really care at all if they were having extramarital activities. Rhaenyra hasn’t done anything truly wrong…except for lying to her “friend”…but seeing how Alicent has behaved, telling her the truth would have done no good. Beyond that, Rhaenyra hasn’t done anything wrong. She might have made what some consider unwise choices and made things more difficult for herself…but the overwhelming majority of the problems she faces are because of Alicent and her never ceasing resentment, bitterness, and hatred…all because Alicent is a jealous, petty little child that has never grown up.

Alicent vowed to be loyal to her husband the king. She adopts green as a sign of war against Rheanyra...and yes against her husband the king. I kinda understand Aemond being a dick after getting Vhagar. He’s been consistently bullied for not having one. So when he finally has one, he becomes the bully. In real life a lot of bullies where once bullied until they got a edge and found someone weaker to bully. It’s not right, but I understand the reason behind his heel turn. Plus after claiming the second largest dragon to ever exist, a person is sure to get cocky. As for the fight, it started as self defense. The girls and boys all attacked him first and he responded. The first girl tried to wrestle with him and he threw her down. The second girl punch him in the face and he punched her back and so on. That’s self defense. Even though he insulted her, the attempt to physically harm was by them first. While he did escalate it by grabbing a rock, after getting jumped by them, he didn’t use it and let the boy go. It wasn’t until the other brother pulled out the knife and slashed at him that he started attacking with it. I think they all just needed a nap. Kids get cranky when they are tired. Ultimately lines have been drawn, sides have been picked, and it’s basically war. The hatred is not just within the adults anymore.

They can sense feelings of those around them and Vaegar (hope that's how its spelled...) chose Aemond! So, I understand that the daughters feel sad for loosing him, but Aemond had every right to do so, just as Vaegar had every right to chose his new rider! She held onto her bitterness, resentment, and hatred…and did everything in her power possible to make Rhaenyra’s and her children’s lives miserable. Alicent also made sure that her children and Criston Cole harbored her ire and hatred for Rhaenyra and her children too. She raised two terrible sons and instilled no decent values, integrity, nor principles in them beyond hating her “friend” and her children and desiring the throne. Beyond all that, Alicent took down all of the Targaryen artwork, iconography, and historical artifacts in the castle and replaced them with puritanical crap from the Faith of the Seven. Again, how is this being “dutiful” and true to the king? See, Alicent was anxious, stressed, repressed, and longed for a different set of circumstances for herself in the beginning. She had every right to be upset about it. Her father manipulated and forced her into an extremely uncomfortable situation and life she didn’t really want. The cultural/societal expectations and unjust hierarchy in which she was raised made her feel she had to be dutiful…and honestly, she had very little to no choice of her own along the way. Yet she didn’t attempt to change any of it for the better…not even in the slightest. She didn’t raise her children, especially her sons, to respect women and people in general and didn’t instill a sense of kindness, openness, and decency within them either. Instead, Alicent has reenforced the crappy cultural/societal expectations and unjust hierarchy that forced her into a life she didn’t really want. It’s even worse than that though…because she hasn’t just reenforced it, she’s made it more puritanical and oppressive for others. Alicent has spent a decade (plus) reenforcing and worsening the crap system, raising terrible sons that share her resentment/hatred, and doing everything possible to make Rhaenyra and her children’s lives miserable. Imagine what good she could have done if she had instead focused all that energy she spent in hating and resenting her “friend” and instead put it into making positive changes and raising decent sons. Rhaenyra, despite her mistakes, has raised decent children. Her “mistakes” weren’t brought about because of her resentment, hatred, and jealousy. She hasn’t gone out of her way to harm and harass anyone. She has simply tried to live a life she can bare while keeping up appearances. She has dared buck against the unjust system and make the best of her circumstances…and because of this, Alicent has done everything in her power to destroy Rhaenyra and her children. Alicent’s behavior is absolutely inexcusable compared to Rhaenyra’s. If Rhaenyra were a prince, no one would really care at all if they were having extramarital activities. Rhaenyra hasn’t done anything truly wrong…except for lying to her “friend”…but seeing how Alicent has behaved, telling her the truth would have done no good. She might have made what some consider unwise choices and made things more difficult for herself…but the overwhelming majority of the problems she faces are because of Alicent and her never ceasing resentment, bitterness, and hatred…all because Alicent is a jealous, petty little child that has never grown up.

For 2 episodes we see him being chill and alone, not being a threat or being aggressive towards others despite Strong's bastard children humiliating and bullying him for absolutely no reason. I think you guys misunderstand Aemond in this case. While yes, he did 'aggravate' them by insulting them, I think it had more to do with the constant teasing he faced by Jace, Aegon, and bitterness for Rhaena and Baela. He's doing what Jace and Aegon had done for years, like a bullied kid savoring doing something the bully did to him. Is it right, no, but he's a kid. He did not 'steal' Vhagar, since Vhagar belongs to whoever claims him and he decides who claims him. It is his right, as is anyone who can claim them. I dont think Rhaenyra have the choice to abandon her claim. The kingdoms are divided between those who will honor their oaths to Rhaenyra and those who will not accept a woman on the iron throne. So for either party to be the only claim the other must be eliminated. So even if she wanted to give up her birth right i dont think Alicent and her fraction would let her live as she will always be a threat to her children's claim. Add to that the hate that Alicent have fosterd for Rhaeneyra over the yeras which make her even more determined to advance her children.

Viserys has through his stupidity placed a bunch of pieces on opposite sides of a board, and the people there basically has to fend for themselves (with their morals becoming increasingly darker because of the situation, as seen with Allicent and Rhaenyra). Had a wise Targaryen like Jaeherys been in power, they could have caught it and united the sides, but Viserys is literally just ripping them apart and doing the most temporary solution possible. Have Aegon marry Baela, Aemond marry Rhaena, and Jacaerys marry Helaena. Take precautions before you die rather than turn a blind eye. Force Rhaenyra and Allicent into a room so that they are forced to talk to each other. Or do something. And history will probably repeat itself with Daenerys and Aegon IV Targaryen (Young Griff) being set on the path to war by Tyrion Lannister's evil.

I'm just happy that the gays are thriving in Pentos (or any free cities). Although, this is a bit tricky coz Rhaena (Daemon's daughter) can potentially claim Sea Smoke (Laenor's dragon). But Dragons and their riders are not a simple duo. The bond between those are deep. Dragons, theoretically can feel what's bothering their riders (remember the time when Daemon got hit by an arrow on the shoulders and Caraxes also felt the pain?). You can see Vhagar is still mourning her rider Laena (Vhagar is a she-dragon) but as you can see, with Laena being dead, Vhagar allowed Aemond to be her new rider (with a few challenges to know if he was worthy of her). On Laenor's case, well he's alive. And if he's alive then it won't be easy for Rhaena to claim Sea Smoke. .

I felt so bad for Alicent in the beginning. Her father forced her into an extremely stressful and uncomfortable situation. She had to marry the king and pump out children. She had to come to his chambers in the evening when beaconed and lie there as the ever more decrepit king climbed on her. When she found out that Rhaenyra had lied to her and had sex with Criston Cole (once mind you), her jealousy and resentment skyrocketed. She had done her “duty” and what she was told…what she was told to do by her father, by the king, and by the culture/society she was raised in. She instantly decided to wear green and declare war upon Rhaenyra…and yes the king…her husband. I thought she was all about doing what was “right” and dutiful? She’s supposed to be the king’s wife first and foremost…and then her father’s daughter. Alicent did not then confront Rhaenyra and have it out with her…but instead held onto her resentment, bitterness, and hatred for her “friend” for over a decade. I understand her being upset with Rhaenyra for not telling her the truth and even for making a stupid mistake in her eyes. I get it…but I don’t at all get her holding onto all that hatred for over a decade without ever even saying anything to Rhaenyra. She held onto her bitterness, resentment, and hatred…and did everything in her power possible to make Rhaenyra’s and her children’s lives miserable. Alicent also made sure that her children and Criston Cole harbored her ire and hatred for Rhaenyra and her children too. She raised two terrible sons and instilled no decent values, integrity, nor principles in them beyond hating her “friend” and her children and desiring the throne. Beyond all that, Alicent took down all of the Targaryen artwork, iconography, and historical artifacts in the castle and replaced them with puritanical crap from the Faith of the Seven. Again, how is this being “dutiful” and true to the king? See, Alicent was anxious, stressed, repressed, and longed for a different set of circumstances for herself in the beginning. She had every right to be upset about it. Her father manipulated and forced her into an extremely uncomfortable situation and life she didn’t really want. The cultural/societal expectations and unjust hierarchy in which she was raised made her feel she had to be dutiful…and honestly, she had very little to no choice of her own along the way. Yet she didn’t attempt to change any of it for the better…not even in the slightest. She didn’t raise her children, especially her sons, to respect women and people in general and didn’t instill a sense of kindness, openness, and decency within them either. Instead, Alicent has reenforced the crappy cultural/societal expectations and unjust hierarchy that forced her into a life she didn’t really want. It’s even worse than that though…because she hasn’t just reenforced it, she’s made it more puritanical and oppressive for others. Alicent has spent a decade (plus) reenforcing and worsening the crap system, raising terrible sons that share her resentment/hatred, and doing everything possible to make Rhaenyra and her children’s lives miserable. Imagine what good she could have done if she had instead focused all that energy she spent in hating and resenting her “friend” and instead put it into making positive changes and raising decent sons. Rhaenyra, despite her mistakes, has raised decent children. Her “mistakes” weren’t brought about because of her resentment, hatred, and jealousy. She hasn’t gone out of her way to harm and harass anyone. She has simply tried to live a life she can bare while keeping up appearances. She has dared buck against the unjust system and make the best of her circumstances…and because of this, Alicent has done everything in her power to destroy Rhaenyra and her children. Alicent’s behavior is absolutely inexcusable compared to Rhaenyra’s. If Rhaenyra were a prince, no one would really care at all if they were having extramarital activities. Rhaenyra hasn’t done anything truly wrong…except for lying to her “friend”…but seeing how Alicent has behaved, telling her the truth would have done no good. She might have made what some consider unwise choices and made things more difficult for herself…but the overwhelming majority of the problems she faces are because of Alicent and her never ceasing resentment, bitterness, and hatred…all because Alicent is a jealous, petty little child that has never grown up.
