The "butterfly" things, are called Rukh, they're basically what powers magic and is a persons destiny, it's a bit hard to explain. The black Rukh are the exact opposite of them, and have the power to defy destiny, so if someone is meaning to live and become an important person, a person who uses the black rukh could kill them instead of letting them live that out

Yeah I’ve noticed this. Because whenever someone reacts to it or brings it up (very rarely) I hardly see anyone asking what this show is. Most people in the anime community seem to know it but it’s just so seldom brought up. I love the anime and th manga personally. But it might be because it didn’t get any more seasons that people quickly moved on to actual continuing series.

Honestly I don't know why this show didn't get that much recognition Like, it's a really good show, the characters are charismatic, the world is interesting, the animation is really good for an anime that was made in 2012, etc. It really has a potential but unfortunately it's extremely underrated But I highly recommend you to watch, it isn't that long and I don't think it's that complicated too.

Trust me, sinbad is the most twisted character in animanga. Hes tooo badass i love him to the core. He isnt the fun easy-going badass that he seems like. Ps. Sinbad is the most badass anime/manga character imo

Sinbad! The singularity born into this world! One of my favourite characters of all time. He's so badass that he got his own manga/anime just to show his life since he was born, because in the anime he's already a grown up badass. 100% recomend the anime. One of the most rich stories i've ever had the pleasure to watch. Sadly no season 3 and i doubt we'll ever get one.

Those birds of light are called Rukh, they are the source of magic in the world, and also the souls of the dead so in a way souls are the source of all magic. BTW Magi is a seriously good series, if you havn't, you should watch it.

sinbad no bouken/ adventure of Sinbad is a prequel that tells the past of Sinbad one of the main characters in the Magi series that helps explain why he is so powerful

The beauty of Magi is how they add elements from the real life history into a fantasy world and implemented it correctly! I'm not a history-kid so I don't know in-depth detail but the powerful sides in that world seemed to be based on the most powerful territorial ruling in history. There's so much more into their worldbuilding, and don't worry, the story starts easy and slowly expands the setting for the readers/viewers to grasp its world-building. The Middle-Eastern characters are based on Arabian Nights, and it's interesting how their Arabian Night counterpart is implemented in the anime! One thing I regretted taking note (depends on what you believe) is enlisting all the names of the 72 dungeons and their "representation," because they're actually based off from the demons in demonology!

Man I miss Magi. Its so good through the whole manga (though after a specific timeskip the pace slows down like crazy, but it picks back up in the end). I'm still waiting for the anime to possibly come back... if ever... one can only hope.

I love magi so much! It is so underrated! I wish it got a season 3 but the manga ended a long time ago so I don't think it will come, but hey, I heard that even bleach is coming back for the final arc of the manga, and that also ended a long time ago, so MAYBE there are chances that magi might come back if popularity increases. It's a great show, definitely recommend it to anyone who likes the fantasy genre. It is heavily inspired by Arabic culture, which's so unique too! The plot at first might seem easy to follow, but it does get a bit more complex and deep, especially in the manga. Nice to see more anime fans interested in Magi!

Labyrinth of Magic is first season, Kingdom of Magic is second season. In that main story, thery is one worldly known king and conqueror, who is one of the most overpowered characters ever - Sinbad. The Sinbad no Bouken spin-off tells his story since he was born till he became a powerful being.

9:07 thats a type of energy. Kinda like chakra from Naruto (but not really). I can't go into much detail without spoiling things. Also Magi is one of the most underrated shonen anime of all time. This is my personal favorite anime! I recommend it a great deal. Adventures of Sinbad is a prequel/spin-off, but you should probably still watch Magi, first. Also, the little butterflies you keep seeing flying around are part of the rukh, which, for the short version, are either black or white depending on someone's alignment, and basically represent the use of various forms of magic.

Magi is one of the best shounen manga ever written imo. I hold it up there with HunterXHunter & FMA in terms of quality. No other manga has made me so invested in the politics and world issues and how the characters tackle the issues of the world than this manga. Alibaba Saluja is a top tier main character. I wish we would have gotten the third and final season of the anime. It’s a shame magi Isn’t more well recognized for how good of a series it is

the adventures of sinbad is a cannon prequel. And Sinbad appears later in Magi too so he didnt die. I havent watched sinbad's adventure but from what I hear its a badass naruto type story and in Magi he's the strongest which is really freaking cool
