Ambessa saying that Sacrifice is the 4th Principle of Strength is not only a theme throughout the episode. It is also a monumental statement considering the entire Noxian government is built around the 3 Principles. It's like some influencial Oligarch saying that maybe we should have 4 branches of Government with them at the top of that 4th branch. Also yes we will only be getting 3 more episodes however the creators of the show have said that the final episode is really long. So it's more like 4 Episodes of content. And this is the final season of Arcane but with the amount of money Riot is about to print with the 300$ Jinx cosmetic they are about to release I have no doubt we will get other shows set in the League Universe in the not so distant future.

Speaking of the hand-to-hand training monologue, this reminds me of something I haven't really thought through but suspect has some poetic significance. During that scene, Ambessa says this: "Remember this Caitlyn, tunnels in your eyes, lava in your veins, shadows in your heart, this is the truth of combat." After seeing what happens to Vander, Ambessa's admonition seems like a cryptic hint at something more significant.

I dont think viktor was evil... but i think he will be now. He has realized humanity is a lost cause cause this is what always happens. I think its a self fulfilling prophecy and jayce has now CAUSED the "future" he saw.

I don’t think victor was good or evil, he was human. I think he is reflecting on the flaw of humanity as it exists within him. He wants to do good, but his desire will also lead to evil. He now wants to transcend humanity.

In the game, Viktor has removed all emotion from himself as he sees it as a weakness. And in his last monologue of this episode, he says that "compassion and hate are two sides of the same coin." Then continues on to say "that which inspires us to do our greatest good is also the cause of our greatest evil." Viktor is lead to one conclusion, and that is emotion itself is a weakness that must be eliminated. Not saying this was the right conclusion to make from Singed's comment, as Viktor admits Singed was "right," but this is clearly the path it is leading to so we get League of Legends Viktor.

Does anyone else find it curious that Viktor seems to know when important characters are coming, invited Jayce to visit, say Jayce kill Salo, has some kind of low-level link to all of his followers, including the kid escorting Jayce to the dome--and yet is just kinda hanging out when Jayce gets there, hammer in hand? I mean, even if he's not expecting Jayce to go right to violence, it feels...imprudent. Which raises the possibility that Viktor saw it coming, reached his understanding as related in his VO monologue (conveniently detached from any actual timestamp), and prepared in a non-visible way. That's not even getting into the weirder possibilities people have brought up about future Viktor sending Jayce into the past to build a self-fulfilling prophecy loop... but I can't shake the feeling Viktor was more than a passive victim here. Also, his whole commune gives me extreme Invasion of the Body Snatchers vibes, including the death (reboot) scream.

There's definitely a lot they'll need to wrap up, so I'm not sure how they'd do it. But I could see them leaving cliffhangers for stuff involving Noxus/Ambessa/Mel, just to leave it open for the next animated series to be based in Noxus and their invasions of other regions.

Jayce, Ekko, and Heim definitely saw some evil twisted world. We are so sad and didn’t focus on the little details. One Salo isn’t breathing when they are in the hexgate mesh, they also did very quick camera flutter, but they show a very sinister image of non-human existing instead of salo as a human. Also, I don’t think a lot of people noticed, but Vander didn’t just disappear because of Viktor’s death, Singed most likely woke up and injected the Serum into Warwick after Caitlyn, Vi, and Jinx walked out. Also Season 1 Vi - “Oil and Water” / Season 2 - Caitlyn - “You look like an angry oil slick.”

Isha did what jinx always do, if lose she sacrifice her self (and did as a child, but hopefully she did it good) Viktor, wanted the Glorious evolution.. But wanted to stay good. But now he sees, good is the one what makes evil. So he conclude, if there is no good in humans, then there will be no evil i think.

Mixed feelings on Viktor's whole thing. Like yes, he's healing people and created a peaceful sanctuary for so many Zaunites (and even non-Zaunites in Salo's case), but his healing clearly stripped people of their senses of self too. Like Huck (the guy that 'guarded' the whole community) and Salo felt very intentionally hollow after they were healed.

yea, unless they sacrifices the pacing, i really cant see them wrap all of the remaining plot points in 3 episodes, iirc the next season will be for another country/region, maybe all of mel's stuff will be for that next season? how do you guys feels about cait switching? i feel like they could do so much more with that before she reunited with vi, felt pretty rushed.

i didn't find it rushed at all. i've seen this a lot, but personally i just don't think so, though ur opinion may differ. there's so many indicators (particularly through her eyes and focus on them) through act 2 that indicates she's already faltering in this harsh pursuit for justice. she questions ambessa at the start and seems so tired of keeping up this aggression. her desire for vengeance is clearly dissipating now that she's had time to process her emotions. they did a lot with it - just showing not telling. you can in fact clock the moment she really realises - when she goes to the tent in ep 6 it's framed as her interrupting a conversation rather than being part of it which she should be because she's supposed to be in charge. even ambessa seems annoyed. caitlyn's eyes dart between the people in the room and you can see her finally realise she's not had any control over this maybe the entire time. her tone of voice after indicates as much. furthermore, the reason vi gives to caitlyn is saving her dad. for someone already faltering and who fell into all this seeking vengeance for her mother and also knowing a good chunk of vi's past with parents in general, the absolute last thing she wanted to do was inflict that pain again on someone else, someone she cares deeply for no less. i really don't think it's a matter of having rushed it or needing something else because it makes perfect sense that family being the driving force for her would likewise be the catalyst for change. plus, the focus on caitlyn's eyes widening after vi calls her cupcake visually demonstrates her tapping into that emotional memory after however many months. it's the first time we see her truly come out again after the build up. there's a lot of subtext, it didn't just come out of nowhere. moreover it wasn't actually a reconciliation - i think both of them realised ambessa was the much bigger threat in addition to vander needing saving and put aside their turmoil for the moment to have that common goal. i think the important thing is that there's no indication they've had any sort of apology or forgiveness - it's an on the spot decision after weighing their choices. in the act 3 preview we see vi confronting caitlyn about it as a matter of fact so it's not just dissipated. that's how i interpret it and it didn't seem rushed at all to me.

There's no reason to do that unless it indicates it's clicking with her in some fashion. I do believe there's a difference between working with Vi to block Ambessa and getting back together with Vi (at least right away). There's still the problem of Jinx.

We're furious and judging him on the collateral damage because we're invested in Vander and so on... but we dont yet know why he went for Viktor like that. The rest is effects and collateral. The tragedy isnt the direct conflict but how it affects the others... same thing thats been happening since S1 Ep1.

This episode had good messages but cheap as heck in their story build up, there was no conflict thus no depth for isha and jinx all fairies and daisies with minor hiccups. For the emotional impact isha brings, there is far too much screen time, the emotional impact is uneared and forced thus the sacrifice feels gross use of a sympathetic character. No empathy, just sympathy, Isha has no internal flaws and jinx's internal flaws are near non existant. Arcane season 2 lacks depth, it wants you to love the characters but refuse to fill it with a balanced substance of conflict and resolution. It's all just resolution, it's like making a cake and just fill it with all icing and a minuscule amount of sponge cake, it's far too simple and it presents itself as a sophisticated cake with no follow up on texture and depth. UGHK I wanted to love this season but I can't. It's bad, mid technically, but really really bad if you're considering how good Season 1 was.
