I see this is an old video and its my first time watching this and Im going to leave a comment anyway. Im new to trading and its a fun hobby for me... The way I see these things, all of these indicators, especially the popular ones. If everyone is using them the same way as indicators when to buy and sell. What is happening is millions of people are coordinating their trades together so it becomes a self fulfilling prophecy. Like RSI when it indicates something is over sold... everyone using that indicator see the signal to sell and everyone sells and the price moves back. Its not that the indicator is predicting the market it is that everyone following the signal is working in tandem. So absolutely learn the popular indicators and use them but also keep the thought in the back of your mind that anything can happen no matter what shapes you draw on the chart.

is Bollinger Bands is suitable for Long term data analysis? Is Bollinger Bands only works for intraday?
@LinusLimMJ4 жыл бұрын
bollinger band helps finetune your entry. so if you're investing for the longer term, finetuning is not as important compared to if you're trading in the shorter time frame where finetuning can affect your returns more

Is the 21 or 20 day SMA better or worse for tracking trades that you expect to close 21 days or less?
@flagshipathletics83235 жыл бұрын
So will the market break the Bollinger bands? Or do the bands just constantly adjust in relation to the moving average and from there you would just determine if it exceeded previous landmarks? I'm still fairly novice in trading and analysis, hopefully I phrased this question sensibly.
@fraserbrown4796 жыл бұрын
Thank you for your video's, very professional. You may have already covered this but can you explain using Bollinger Bands in conjunction with Stochastic RSI and more specifically what time frames to use. If your a buyer the Stochastic RSI shows very different information for when to trade in the different time frames. Often when looking at a 1hr time frame it looks good to buy but then you change to a 2hr or 4hr time frame and the bollinger band, stochastic RSI relationship completely changes and shows a very different chart. I'm looking to be in trades for up to a week or even a month so this will also impact on what time frames to concentrate on. Thanks.
@davidjones24526 жыл бұрын
Hi, I can't comment from this on experience as it's not an approach I use. If you are looking to be in trades for a week or more I would have thought that daily time frames would be better? Of course, if you change time frames then all of what the indicators are showing will change as you are looking at a different set of data. Personally I would be looking at dailies, and maybe four hour charts. I would not have too many indicators either - as you say you can just end up with conflicting signals.

Great thanks for your reply, really appreciated.

Hey David love your videos. If you have time to answer I am curious what indicators you do use. Appreciate the time taken. And, specifically will you adjust the settings of an RSI say depending on time frame or run with the default parameters.
@davidjones24526 жыл бұрын
Hi, I really just focus on trend support and resistance - maybe an RSI now and again. I stick with a 10 day RSI.

Good Video but why do we see some reach say the top bollinger band and continue to stay there never going back towards the bottom bollinger. This is even after we get reversal signal from candles but still does not head towards opposite bollinger band.
@nomanshaikhali33554 жыл бұрын
Hey, I want to ask that if the price(close factor) is above the upper band then it is overbought means time to sell and when the price(close factor) is below the lower band then it is oversold means time to buy! Right? Basically, I want to calculate overbought and oversold signals using Bollinger bands!

Since the bands are historical... one can't see next week's bands... how can they be used to predict anything? If price drops below the current band... nothing to stop it from continuing to drop, true? And then the bands would just expand... So not seeing how this is usable as an indicator? Seems like more of a trailing statistical study that a leading indicator... or am I missing something?
