I'm very happy and grateful to you Ross. I have been trying to day trade for years on and off mostly losing and fiddling in the dark. I have been placing small positions in the past week or so just using MACD as you explained. Just to get a feel of my emotions when I'm actually in the trade. I can tell you that had I been more disciplined, prepared, and no fomo, I would have had more green days than red, using only this strategy. My daily goal is $200 and I was nowhere near it until today when I forced myself to wait patiently. I placed 2 trades and was up $385. I took my $$ and walked away. I was content Wow! what feeling. I will continue to watch you and keep practicing. You're the best Ross. Thank you for your service to the trading community. ❤

MAC-D is really a more accurate and game winning indicator... you need to follow these things---- a) 2 Monitors for trading 1 for charts & other for trading b) EMA CROSS Indicator with lengths 9 & 26 for checking trends c) MAC-D indicator for trade entry and exit d) ADX indicator for confirmations and 2 lines to check breakouts... that's all. 20 to 40 points targets with 4 to 8 trades per day will get easily in scalping... that is what i found success after spending 2 years..

Excellent introduction to the basics of the MACD indicator. Few more advanced strategies for MACD: 1) Noticing bearish/bullish divergences For example at 15:00 the MACD signal lines made a lower low, while price made a higher low (bearish divergence). 2) Noticing when the trend is reversing (flipping from bullish to bearish or vice versa). For example at 17:16 the MACD signal lines crossed below the 0 level, indicating a possible change in trend. Didn't know that the MACD can be dragged in to the actual chart view; will definetaly look to incorporate this technique. 👍

Your channel has really helped me to understand trading better.

Really enjoyed this tutorial. I have been using M A C - D for a while now and it has really helped me. Knowing when it crosses over is a good indicator, whether to enter the trade or pause and wait. In fact I honestly believe M A C - D and the volume bars are actually sufficient, for all your trades and because of that, you probably could get away with not using emulated or simple moving averages, although I still do. Maybe I give it a try one day in my demo account! of course, don’t want to be taken chances with a live account and see what occurs. I also think to many indicators are not needed, three max would definitely suffice I honestly believe. So another great tutorial from ross here and as always, take it all in and prepare for the next one, after all, they are better than anything else your ever see on you tube. Keep up the good work ross, we need these lessons. Regards Bill.

They both measure price and it's derivatives. They are correlated. Try replacing RSI with a volume based indicator or rate of change ROC or a range ATR based indicator. This way you get a more diverse look. The MACD is better in it's percent based version PPO. This way when you run a comparison you can truly compared vs various financial instruments or different time frames.

A lot of great stuff here. However, I do have one quibble. You actually WANT to trade the market on different signals than everyone else is using, particularly if you are trading large positions. If you get everyone trading the same signals, you're going to find that the market often will surge away from you before you can place an order because other people are soaking up the standing orders. You WANT to vary your setup so you get slightly different signals and eliminate that problem.
