Can you differentiate raag bhupali and raag Deshkar
@chondryma4 ай бұрын
Deshkar is a raag that can be easily confused with Raag Bhoopali because they both have the same notes in the Aaroh and Avroh. But that’s where the similarity ends. Deshkar belongs to the Bilawal family while Bhoopali belongs to the Kalyan family. They differ in mood, tempo, and the movement of notes.

Alaap for "Tujhe yaad kar liya hai' you mumbled the raag. I couldn't make out what raag it was.

You also need to know the chalan or progression of the raga to identify which one it is. Identifying the raag on which a song is based can be an enriching experience, especially in Indian classical music. Here are some steps to help you identify the raag: Pay attention to the melody and notes used and how they are arranged. Indian raags are defined by specific sets of notes (swaras). Familiarize yourself with the notes of common raags (e.g., Sa, Re, Ga, Ma, Pa, Dha, Ni). Determine the ascending (aroha) and descending (avaroha) scale of the song. Listen to renditions of known raags to find similarities. The more you listen to and practice raags, the easier it will become to identify them. Try to associate specific songs with their raags.
