No bro , u need to know how much murkis, gamakas, harkat, u have to add in a song . Shreya Ghoshal, Monali Thakur, Sonu Nigam also add slightly in bollywood songs but people love it .

If u are not classically trained then u can't understand the sur or besur properly bhai😁 actually everyone who wants to become a singer go and get minimum classical talim! Sab log god gifted nehi hota hai ki uska kaan taiyar ho aur sur besur samajh paye! Arijit singh, sonu nigam, shreya ghoshal sab log bolte hai ki classical sikho! Unlogon ki interview me suna tha! Even shreya mam told that jab woh chhoti thi tab 4 ghante riyaz karti thi....Aur arijit singh ne pure classical ki talim li hai 2-3 guru se!!!

I would like to say ki yes agar koi accha sikha rahe ho to aap Sikh sakte ho KZbin se ya fir khud pratcice karke lekin musical sense ek aisi cheez hai jo develop hoti hai. Everybody's sense is not developed ki agar galat Gaya to pata chale .also live guru ke pass Jake additional Gyan milta hai jo bahut help karta hai koi bhi genre nibhana ho to so sikhna jaruri hai atleast २ saal . Kaunse gane gana chahte ho that's a choice Lekin itna to sikhna bahut helpful hota hai 😀

I agree. Classical ki basic knowledge honi zaruri hai. Bohot help hoti hai. And jo gamak, murki, harkat use hote hai Bollywood songs me, woh gaane me aasani hoti hai. But I know people, jo ke 4 saal ke umar se classical seekh rahe hai, and no doubt they have impeccable precision in their voice, but Bollywood gaane gaate hai toh bhi usme ek classical flavour aa jata hai. I'm no expert, but I think Bollywood me classical se thoda jyada voice modulations ka use hota hai, thodi jyada adaa hoti hai, and jaisa aapne kaha, ek rawness hoti hai. It depends on the song too. Because Indian cinema me aaj bhi kuch gaane hote hai raag based, jo semi classical style me gaate hai, lekin phir bhi, mujhe lagta hai ke versatility kam ho jati hai over practice karne se.

So basic is important for both Bollywood and classical..

almost every playback singer is atleast 5-7 years classical proper trained because it gives base into vocals. u said classical is different. thats not the discussion the only thing which should be mentioned that if you have to sing proper way then u have to be classical trained.

Not really! Wrong information. Actually there are only 5-7 singers who are classically trained. There is no Hard and fast rule that if only you are classically trained you can do playback. It just adds to the advantages.

Wrong conception of all. There is nothing like classical and movie songs different things. Music is only one. What people says as classical is base juggling of notes. In movie songs also juggling of tunes which are based on notes. Both are same. You will only learn classical means you will only prepare base. What is the use of learning base if you don't implement that base on singing. Listen one thing every song is classical. Every song has notes. It looks quite funny that I will learn abcdefgh but I cannot write a simple sentence. Singing a song with perfection is 1000 times difficult than singing only correctly. Now look at the difference. Classical singing for you is like base of music for me. Singing any song is implementation of basic knowledge of music. And this implementation will only give correct singing notes. Correct singing is not sufficient to render good singing. You have to add acting, emotions, feelings, variations of vocal texture then only you can do justice with any Bollywood songs. There are many Pandits of vocal singing who don't have the quality of singing Bollywood songs because they have poor conception of singing. They all focus on correctness but not on all over perfection. Request any pandit to sing Rafi Sahab, Kishore da, Mukesh jee, They will avoid because they will fear singing those numbers they know that they cannot perform because they were not taught to add emoticons to the correctness. Listen one thing. Every song is classical song. Just add required emotions to it. I gurantee that, you will sing much better than vocal Pandits.
