In this episode of the Figuring Out podcast, we are in conversation with Rana Daggubati. Actor, producer and entrepreneur, Rana Daggubati best known as the vicious antagonist 'Bhallaladeva' from the record-breaking Indian franchise, Baahubali, Rana, however, began his mainstream film career as the producer of the National Award-winning film Bommalata (2004).
In 2005, he set up Spirit Media, a company that specialized in VFX and animation.
On the back of the phenomenal success of the Baahubali franchise, Rana went to earn another first with India's first underwater film, The Ghazi Attack (2017), which was a commercial success and garnered him another prestigious National Award.
In 2018, Rana entered into a joint venture with one of India's leading entertainment agencies, Kwan Entertainment. He also partnered with Anthill Ventures, an investment and scaling platform for early growth stage start-ups, to launch Anthill Studio. Rana also bought a stake Amar Chitra Katha in 2019.

One thing really like about Rana's interviews is that he always stresses the word 'Telugu' whenever he gets an opportunity. Unlike bollywood actors, Telugu actors don't feel shy to identify themselves with their roots and culture. I knew 4 languages including telugu which is my mother tongue. No offense to any other languages, but telugu sounds really superb when you speak or listen to it.

I watched the Ghazi Attack the first day at a local theatre in Vizag in telugu. I was literally shocked to watch the entire jam packed theatre to stand up for the national anthem scene. Vizag people were so much connected to the film. It was one of a kind ❤

Yeah I'm from vizag n my house is just opposite to kursuri submarine museum. I visited that submarine for many many times since 4yrs old . every children's day free visits is available for children . That submarine in the movie is just like a real one. N every time we listen visakhapatnam in theatre we feel goosebumps , we love our city = we love our nation.. Many of the ppl from vizag missed the opportunity n better life just bcz we should leave vizag. But i think it's time 3,4 yrs we can go out n earn money n if God bless I can get a good job in vizag but i can't live anywhere else. N yes we are so emotional n crazy with movies.

Did you ever noticed rana or any South actor saying South india Or they want tollywood Or kollywood sandelwood mollywood over bollywood Or over Indian film industry we just want equal recognition n important, this is basic right to get recognition for their work, even nroth regional film industries should try to get their recognition , west bengal gave bollywood many legends but west Bengal film Indian is still underrated n every good stock shifted to bollywood from west Bengal film industry so that industry get weak, our telugu film industry Or any other southern film industry want to grow in their own place we love be a face of cat when tail of tiger. Development Or change starts from you so one should develop them self then his surroundings n in this way every corner of our country development well.Might be South cultures are similar n North was mixed with many cultural n NE states are different in culture but emotionally we all are the same, in fact puri South Asia similar hai this is the so called akand barath.
