Anurag Kashyap unfiltered on Actor's Entourage, Tantrums and Demands on film sets

In this video, Anurag Kashyap reveals the negative impact of actors' high pay, entourages, and unreasonable demands on the film sets. He highlights the need for producers and agents to set boundaries and for actors to be more cost-conscious to improve the industry's overall health. Anurag also explains how Salman Khan, Aamir Khan and Shah Rukh Khan never take fees from the producers which reduces the movie production cost hence helping the filmmakers. When it was Hindi Film Industry, we were right on top. The day these crooks called it "Bollywood", mafia took birth. This is the same mafia that has now grown many fold in Bombay . They give you the illusion they know film making ! It's so disgusting to even wanting to watch a Hindi film. The last time I watched one was over 10 years ago !! @@yoyomodiji The pay disparity is striking. Influencers and actors earn significantly more than technicians and crew members, with the latter often facing appalling working conditions. In fact, the treatment of B crew members would be considered a violation of labor laws in many countries, and could even be deemed criminal. Actor's must be respected, so should everyone else. But the gap in pay, treatment, and everything else is a world apart. It is a reflection of life, to be honest.

This is neither not wrong and neither evitable. Regarding the amount of money you need to put into making a film, like any business you need a return on investment. If you want and relate only to the art part then these type of artists should do theatre acting. U should not come to cinema industry and then complaint about its business aspect

I think demands and tantrums of big actors existed before as well maybe in a different form , I don’t think this culture came into being because of OTT , it has just evolved into becoming more toxic due to corporatisation , so earlier it was one agent managing , negotiating an actors contracts now you have an entire agency working on his brand positioning , public perception etc etc using different mechanism , tools & in fact OTT has given level playing field to many small time actors , filmmaker’s to showcase their talent because of its fast reach & Kashyap made Bombay Velvet with big stars like Ranbir & Anushka , I am not sure how would he complete the film disallowing their entourage & demands, so it’s a bit rich when he says he never allowed all this. I know Malayalam industry is an exception in financial discipline but this could also be because it’s a norm for them to work on limited budgets.

Robert Downey Jr took 80 million dollars for Avengers Endgame n the same Robert Downey Jr takes less money for other films according to d overall PRODUCTION BUDGETS of d film...will Indian actors follow practicality...what Anurag said here is mostly true n one more thing that should b added to d discussion is BOLLYWOOD ACTORS STILL DONT CARE ABOUT SCRIPT...NOT EVEN D PRODUCERS...fun fact,the reels of bade Miya chote Miya got views in millions n millions but very few people went to theatres to watch d film..the main reason is credibility of d content of Bollywood...now only Shahrukh n Ranbir have that CREDIBILITY...and Salman is d only actor whose even d flop films collect almost 100 crores....he will rise again...n when will the producers of Bollywood will create a new pool of talent of new screenwriters n new music composers...do u know hardly 5 to 7 songs of bill r hit in 7 months...why...coz these producers n even d actors don't understand what a good catchy tune is...they think the views generated for d song on KZbin means that d song is catchy...n when d songs r average they create hurdles in d viewing experience of watching d film in theatres...hey,u can't skip d song on d theatre 😂😂😂....n if u know d ground reality, the tv movies shown in Hindi belt r 90 percent dubbed SOUTH INDIAN MOVIES N THEY DONT SHOW SONGS....n the theatrical movies of Hindi cinema r not better than these south Indian movies viewed at home,so why will Hindi audiences will go to theatres spending money on parking, traveling, tickets,popcorn,n 3 hours of time n then finding d Hindi movie to b a copy of South Indian cinema or not better than d South Indian cinema viewed by Hindi audiences at home on tv ..!!!

At 8:04 - Anurag gets it wrong. Please see the beginning of most, if not highly popular Malayalam movies. The beginning of the movie is having credits to so and so person from Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Qatar, Bahrain etc. i.e. they have a very well established network for foreign investment, rather than relying internally within India and have to do a hundred adjustments before the film gets a go to.
