When this was getting recorded, Kishoreda who usually used to sing standing in front of the microphone was not able to sing on lower cord, it was Laxmiji, suggested him to sing in sitting position. After much ado Kishoreda agreed and this melodious and meaningful song was recorded. He was not given to sing, in the era of Mohd. Rafi, as all described him not a singer. Naushad never accepted him a singer. There's a true story behind this song told by Pyarelal ji. Even after 7 to 8 takes, LP found something missing. They wanted Kishorda to render softness in the voice. Kishorda was sitting on a chair with both his hands on his cheeks covering his face. He tried singing the song in same position and LP was happy. So Kishorda went on the mike for Final take in same position i.e. hands on his cheeks covering his face, and sang the whole song. What a genius.

I accept that kishoe da was very practical singer who gave priority to situation of sene and actor to whom he is going to sing. But sahab was mastero in classical to. This song is a genius and it’s so soothing Kishoreda was the best singer having no training for music. He was a natural singer and would put his heart and soul into songs he has sung for both himself and other actors . Miss you Kishoreda always like we miss Latadidi. With no offense, but today anybody and everybody is just doing playback with heavy music in background taking over, so it doesn't matter who sings it, everybody is being accepted.
