Something a little different, and what a great episode. Mr May has the skill of a commercial matchman, then he's a running water angler. More like this too please.

Love watching Andy, great fisherman. Have learned so much from him with regards to feeder fishing. Still got my Daiwa match rod with screw in quivers, that my father brought me back in the early 90s.

Great video Andy, and they are pick up pins on a closed face…I used to remove one on my 1044’s as they would sometimes not work properly 🎣🎣🎣🙌🏼🙌🏼

I fished that weir, and many of the other stretches of the Dane back in the 1980s and early 1990s. It has changed considerably since those days, and the weir pool looks a lot less turbulent than it did back in the day. To Andy's left, where the weir pool ends, and the river shallows up, is a split in the river, and an island that is about 20 yards in length. You can wade to the island, and there are one or two pegs where the barbel are abundant, and large in size.

On a closed face reel it's a pick up pin that's why the best closed faced reels had two pick up pins because you could bump fish off with one pin because of the slack line one pin created

Never used the Bolo on the Weaver. Sliders was my choice with a 14 ' Shakespeare president match rod ( which i still have ) until Poles took over 😊

Seems a strange way to feed while trotting, or are you feeding that way because its a SHORT trot?🤔
