For yall that don't know Cakewalk is still it. Complete DAW with over 35 years of development. Fully supported and runs every VST worth using. It gets the job done with no excuses.

Akai should definitely link with Cakewalk to turn MPC 2.0 software into a monster DAW!
@bryantwalley
@bryantwalley 2 жыл бұрын
@@BeatzByDuvv Cakewalk has already implemented that functionality. You can open Cakewalk and then open the MPC2 software directly from inside Cakewalk as a VST Instrument. Complete access to all your controllers and sound packs along with the ability to use it with any other VSTs you may want to use in your song. Like I said before, Cakewalk gets it done with no excuses.

Cakewalk was where I first started. And the ASR x . I remember the poor man's copyright by mailing a tape or cd to yourself but not opening the mail. I actually started on the turntables scratching OutKast music. Oh yea latency was a real thing back then.

Midi clocking has not changed much and that is sad. Alot of us don't use it the same way thou so thank goodness. I record all my parts into the force and construct everything in the machine. I transfer stuff to ableton to finish it out. I would never try to sync my synths up it's still like the Flintstones with midi clocking. All this time has passed and nothing has been done to fix the clocking... sad.
@bryantwalley
@bryantwalley 2 жыл бұрын
If you having MIDI clock problems get a second set of eyes on what you are trying to hook up. MIDI clock sync is rock solid and has been for a long time. Every problem people have with MIDI clock sync is from trying to chain or loop something the wrong way. Several MIDI hubs and splitters out there today that take all the guesswork our of it.
@Ast3rixMusic
@Ast3rixMusic 2 жыл бұрын
@@bryantwalley No it's not solid. When you are syncing external gear it's not perfect. I don't use it that way because it's so bad. Try syncing up an external drum machine or arp device and you will see the problems. I hear people complaining about this all the time that use external gear. The only way I use midi is to trigger it for recording into an audio track. I would never try to perform live with it.. It sucks.
@bryantwalley
@bryantwalley 2 жыл бұрын
@@Ast3rixMusic I been doing this over 30 years. There have been times where I have had as many as 8 or 10 midi devices all in sync, all running at the same time with no issues. I'm not the only one. There are many people that do this every day without issue. Like I said before, you get timing issues when you start chaining devices. That is not a problem with the clock. That is called latency. One midi device to another will not have latency. If you are connecting several devices you need a midi router or splitter to reduce the delay from the signal going from one device to the other. There are companies that make central midi controllers if you have a very large rig. I'm trying to help you out but I can't make you learn it. If you don't believe me watch some of the people here on KZbin do it.
@Ast3rixMusic
@Ast3rixMusic 2 жыл бұрын
@@bryantwalley I appreciate your info but I have a very good working knowledge of midi. I actually am running a very advanced midi setup with two iconnectivity mioxm units. I know what works and doesn't work for me. My setup works fine the way I am using it today. I'm not interested in setting up a chain of devices to run in conjunction with my Akai Force. I am getting exactly what I need with my setup and I am able to record the sounds I need.

Crazy because,I was at IAMD in my hometown Chicago 2000!I took a year off when,I graduated in nyc 99 high school.I made my first beat on a Roland xp 80 with digi design aka protools as my daw and edit the track on sound edit 16.Then my cousin in 2001 at our college told me about fruity loops....I felt it was too fruity for me lol at the time and bought another software for my new 2001 Mac g3 laptop...I ain’t going to lie stole most of the software from my school with a Zip disk...smh protools was a problem to take.I used to roll my b’s in the studio at my college while making my beats for my advance audio class!That beat went gold in my city and platinum now but sold it for 125 and a bag of trees lol in 2000...smh
