Great insight on the army as a whole. Keep up the good work, I look forward to new videos.

Love this video. Can't wait till you touch on the 3E armies ^^.

I'm looking forward to it, too! Harder to do them since we don't really have all the details about them yet, but I'm trying to touch at least on what we have now for 3E as I talk about the 2E aspect. And since people play both editions still, it's kind of a win-win. But we'll see; by the time I get to the US, Germany, and probably the UK we will hopefully have those books out already, :)

As a main Imperial Japan player, i am sadly have to wait till 2026 for the Army Book to come out. With how melee changed and Banzai rule got nerf, the IJA can't win against any major powers.

@@viettrungtran4500 IJA is in a really tough spot: their strongest play last edition was maneuvering up with supporting fire and then crushing enemies in close combat; in 3rd they can technically still do close combat but they have almost no access to Tough Fighters, so your chances of winning are not that great. I've been finding myself relying on HE more (lots of SPGs, mortars, and battalion guns), and I know some have found great success with light mortars in squads, but personally I'm not a big fan of those

This was great, thank you so much! Do you have any sources for the 4 88's in Norway?
@zurncentral39617 күн бұрын
Good question - it's a hodge-podge from several sources: there's a book out by Geirr Haarr talking about the invasion (it's a big book) where he notes that there's a large AA gun purchase of various calibers from Germany during the Interwar Period, and he includes in the list four heavy AA guns. It's later mentioned that some of the air crews turned their guns on the German navy, which makes me think these heavy guns are, in fact, the 88mm (plus I'm not sure that Germany was making and exporting very many 40-75mm AA guns during this time). But the biggest issue is that we don't have a lot of sources at all for Norwegian purchases during this time; as I mentioned we don't even have evidence that the armored vehicles they ordered from Sweden even arrived before the invasion, and I suspect that the neutral stance of Norway for so long meant that they didn't publish much of their arms purchases, along with just upgrading equipment they have before. So I'm really working off of one book, 😕

@@zurncentral3961 Damn, I wrote a lengthy reply, thats gone now for some reason, on a how another book details 7-8 or so different AA gun procurements in the between-wars period, but no mention of any 88's. Also I think I have that book by Haarr! Just have to dig it up from wherever in my house :p

The first rule is basically a waste of time. It does nothing.

Totally agree - glad to see it's gone in 3rd Edition so far, and hope it doesn't return. All it does is slow the game down
