Great bat rep! Matilda doesn’t have a hill mounted MMG annoyingly, it’s like the 222, main gun and coax on the turret.

Thank you and that's my bad. I went from regularly using a Cromwell to the Matilda and mistook the large frontal hatch for an MG port. Knowing me I probably assumed I just broke the barrel off like I eventually do on everything else.

Good video, watched and enjoyed. It's a tough balance when filming to maintain a fair pace (so people don't tune out) and to keep the rules in your head. You guys did an ok job.gotta say though that the Germans looked outclassed from the start, that 8th army list just has so much utility with all the trucks.

After the 2nd fail to activate the 88 should of just rallied as the longer you fail to activate the less chances to have it make a mark with the closing turns

Ya, mistakes were made. To be fair most of us are so terrified of that thing that if he had rallied we would've just shot at it more than we did. Its a fabulous, though expensive distraction unit that hits like a train.

@@littlerhodywargaming I know all about that as I got 3 bullet sponge units myself, that would be my Brummbar, StuH-42 and my JSU-152. It doesn't matter if I have them on the board at the very start or somewhere in the middle of the game as soon as they show what ever heavy weapons are out there for my opponent just start to zero in on them. As nothing says RAID (Bug spray) for infantry than a heavy howitzer and a 4 inch template. The StuH is really a poor mans Brummbar as it has a medium howitzer a 3 inch temp. all for 190 points regular or 200 with the schurzen/ side skirt option.

Ya we found the issue there. The list was made on Easy Army and the Rommel Triumphant list uses the Road to Berlin Strafbattalion which allows the use of ARs. We're just chalking it up to the use of the Gewehr 41 which was in service at that time but very prone to malfunctions and overshadowed by the more successful Gewehr 43.

You guys need to slow down your games if you’re not super familiar with the rules. I’m only half paying attention and so far I’ve seen you - 88mm passed an order test and removed two pins, why?! - you shot over you’re friendly infantry, this cannot be done. - use weapon systems on vehicles that are incorrect - bad math - you’re going to fast so that time you needed 7’s to hit. You got three 6’s, then two 6’s. Those are you hits. Then you rolled a 5 and 3, that’s one dead like the other guy said. Not what you said. - forgot about the tough to kill rule when taking out the German MMG I believe it was. - why are you taking moral checks with 3 dice? That would be almost impossible to pass. - why didn’t he recce away to a better spot?! He can turn you know. And in the assault, as soon as you hit an open top vehicle the way you did it’s automatically destroyed. - how does anyone have a assault rifle in North Africa? Those weren’t in that theatre or even invented yet… - not a rule screw up but wtf did that guy shoot the autocannon at the troops right in front of him? MMG would of been a much better call. - immediately after that the 25 pounder shot at the tank indirect. Why not just shoot direct and probably hit on a 3. And on top of it that gun can switch ammo to AP, giving it a +4 for pen. - why did he his tank there so dam long? The panzer III, wow. - when hitting a vehicle with indirect you place the template over the top of the vehicle. I mean I guess you hit the building that those guy were in but I mean come on, really?… but then you played the building as hard cover and only killed one guy. I mean no matter which way you look at it you messed up. - so there was a fubar on the squad by the 222. Then the British command team assaulted it right after, that 222 didn’t even get 1 hit with 6 MMG shots?! I mean not even a pin?! It would of got defensive fire at regular range. So out of 6 shots it didn’t get a single 4?! Or he of recced out of the way if he wanted too. - when the Germans charged at the British the Germans once again took away a pin too many, - where did the German tank magically disappear to? It had 8 pins and then it was gone all of the sudden? - when the 88mm fired at the command team, unless it was 6” away, it needed a 4 to hit. Small team.

Thank you for the input! This has certainly been a learning experience now that we're playing behind/ in front of a camera and while we've been playing for a few years now it appears that the camera makes up all a little brain dead at times. Not taking a good look at your own tank, missing dice due to playing the game through a tiny reviewing screen etc. We continuously aim to improve the quality of both our games and video content and endeavor to do so. Quite a few of your points seem to be addressed at our decision making process so well try to catch a bit more of that on camera so hopefully it'll make a bit more sense to the viewer. For example the Panzer III tried to stay on the objective since he wasn't confident the infantry in the building would've survived long enough. Unfortunately the tank ended up with pins in excess of its leadership and the crew bailed. As for the infantry firing over friendly infantry we have a house rule that we go over in the intro where if you are firing from an elevated positions such as the tops of hills you can safely clear friendlies. We found this makes terrain heavy games a little less punishing for the player and a bit more fun. Also the AR wielding DaK have been brought up a few times and we believe we found the issue. On Easy Army the Rommel Triumphant list seems to use the Strafbattalion from the Road to Berlin book which allows for ARs. We're just chalking it up to they are using the Gewehr 41 which was in service at that time but very prone to malfunctions and overshadowed by the more successful Gewehr 43. Though we're going to have a talk with our German player about his tricky time traveling ways, messing with the timeline etc.

@@littlerhodywargaming hats off to you getting as much right as you do while filming. It’s easy to pick holes in your decision making, I’d certainly play it differently, but it’s your game, not mine. I watch because I’m interested to see how you play and remind myself of rules I don’t use frequently. Ultimately I’m grateful that you make the effort and put your head over the parapet for my entertainment.
