Now to get the rest of the car tuned to the new engine. We ran asphalt racing for a while. Whenever you add horsepower, you almost have to start from scratch with the gearing, tuning the suspension, tire pressures, etc. It all works together. And yes, that engine does sound different than your old engine. Sounds like horsepower.

Jody Ridley once told me that he and Biddle had figured it up one time and based on the number of hours in a given weeks of work that they put in neither of them were making minimum wage in an average week. @@MDAdams72668 not a natural aspirated 355 ci. You will need more cubes to make 1k. SB2 heads are way behind current cylinder heads. If they were that good nascar would still be running them.

@@hagarhufft7671 yes sir I heard that, MD Adams said 355 in his comment, And a 440 still won’t make 1k, naturally aspirated. SB2’s make about 920to 935 Newer engines running now make 970 to 985. And they are 460ci. 1k is coming but not currently.

@@Ever443 Actually Winston cup engines(with all their restrictions) routinely made 850+hp so a 440ci sb2 will surely be north of 1k Nascar LOWERED the hp of Cup and Busch/Xfinity. the reason the sb2 is no longer used is "Eventually, Nextel Cup Series Director John Darby developed a list of parameters to define the engine envelope for all manufacturers. Jim Covey, NASCAR engine program manager for GM Racing stated, "We had already started to lay the foundation for a future Chevrolet engine, and we were able to adapt that design to the Chevrolet R07"

I would get a moving dolly, add some eye hooks to the sides and a rope on one end. Then you can set the engine on the dolly, strap it down, and use the rope to pull it from the garage to the trailer. You might be able to leave it on the dolly when you slide it under the counter.

When you get to the track after hot laps you might want to pull a spark plug and look at to see you need to make adjustments to the new carb. Just saying good luck and be safe like watching you're channel

@Lucas Oldaker nobody has actually said who built the motor originally. Racetek just went through the motor and put it on the dyno. It is an Chevy SB2 but that is all we really know.

Can't wait to see if they can get all that power down coming off the turns. I like the race prep videos. When I used to help with a race team we had a big board with a checklist. And it was every bolt and nut on that car and then some. Sounds awesome but let me tell you from experience don't be afraid to put earplugs in it doesn't bother you now but after years of racing the ears wear out and you will get tinnitus they're ringing in your head that never goes away 24 hours a day 7 days a week 365 days a year take my advice I love your guys's race team and if I were to add anything it would be ear protection I spent many nights in the shop building motors getting him ready for the next evening I sure wish I would have been wearing ear plugs good luck you guys
