My wife and I bought a Shark vacuum about 10 years ago. We have two dogs. The Shark has not given us an ounce of trouble and does a fabulous job. With a push of a button, it converts to a handheld vacuum to do the steps, has a nice long cord, no bags, washable filters and it glides over the carpet. I couldn't imagine owning anything else.

I just about fell off my chair laughing when Melissa was telling the story about the vacuum cleaner. My wife and her family are originally from western Pa. I was born and raised in Virginia. We have been married 53 years. The first night she had made us dinner and we were finished she said she had to red up the table. Naturally I had never heard that before. I asked her what that meant and she said to clean up. She still says red up. My wife calls a vacuum a vacuum sweeper, but my mother-in-law called it a sweeper. Funny how different parts of the country have different sayings. Love your channel. God bless your entire family. Say hi to Hunter.

We have been working on painting and updating the house for a few weeks now. I am so far behind on getting my firewood in. Now, deer season starts on Sept 7th so its looking like my furnace is going to get a workout this winter. I have plenty of wood split but most of it is red oak and i dont think it will be ready this winter. The good news is, that gives me a head start for next winter. Hope everyone had a great weekend. Stay safe everybody

Mr. Mike, your father-in-law is amazing, God Bless Him, and you! I could watch this type of work all day! I cant do it anymore at this point and I am only 60 ys. young. Been out of work for a year with back issues after a fall from only 7 feet to ground. I was cringing when you were putting that nice wood on the fire as a wood burner I am. Have been cutting and burning wood since 1979 and I enjoy it. Take care Mike, I enjoy your videos, I look forward every morning to watch them, Take care!

Mike I love your channel , always put a smile on my face when your beautiful wife joins you for a little banter! Really love her little stories. I must add that it took me a couple of times to realize what you meant, when you would stop at Bass Pro Shop on your way home from WV and say I'm going to pick up some precious metals, until the time I caught the large case of ammo hitting the bed of your truck ,then it all made sense! 2A, need I say anymore! Looking forward to the next one take care.

It reminds me of the years I spent splitting wood by hand.. They didn't make those kind of wood splitters back when we lived on the farm. That was why I built a boiler where I could put in logs 8" to 10" logs. We ran our boiler all the time because we used it for hot water. Back then we had an electric bill of Ten to Fifteen dollars a month--that was 1975....

Yet another great video. As for a new sweeper take a look at one of these. Miele Classic C1 Cat & Dog PowerLine - SBBN0. It’s a canister vacuum with a powered brush head. It uses bags instead of the Dyson type units where you see all of your dirt and hair swirling around. I watched a bunch of videos before we replaced our Dyson with the Miele. Dyson vacs are heavy. I suggest that you visit a vacuum store and at least try the Miele before you purchase your new sweeper. Keystone in Butler carries Miele. Also, your old sweeper might just need to be cleaned. If it’s clogged up it will overheat and there may be an automatic shutoff.

Great video. Wonderful to see Ed too. Okay. After military moves and being stationed in many States across the beautiful USoA, I learned how differently we all speak. I’m from a tiny town in Northeast Indiana. We always said “I’m going to sweep the carpet”. There are also other ways we speak, and words we use, that I found were different than others. Just like England. They have pockets of cultures throughout. We, in the US, do too. 2) I have had many sweepers. My favorite is my current. The Shark. From Amazon. 3) When I was little I watched my mom cut strawberries and she would cut the green top off and the bottom tip. I did the same when I got older. She saw me and asked why I cut the bottom tip. She said she only cut the tip off if it was bad or not red. Isn’t it all interesting. Our interpretations, our cultures where we grow up. Back in the ‘80’s & 90’s of military life, I got to experience a vast array of people I thought said things like I did simply because they are American like myself. Fun learning the differences. Now I’m in the South and still learning. I love your personality Melissa. You must be fun to be around. Strong work, Mike. As always. Sorry I wrote a book. The End

We have two 70-pound dogs (a White Shepherd and a Shepherd Mix) We recommend the Shark Robot that empties itself into the base. This thing runs every day for about 2 hours and it is a lifesaver. Our White Shepherd only sheds twice per year for 6 months. 😂😉 We do have a Shark upright vac but the Robot keeps up with most of the job. It is programable and maps out your house. You can easily select where and when want it to clean.

We have an Electrolux, Miele and a Dyson Absolute. The Dyson picks up the best but the battery doesn't last long... Daughter (6 cats) gave us a broken Dyson Animal Ball that I fixed(She loved it, she had work done at her house and it was totally clogged with spackle dust) worked amazing after I cleaned it up and replaced about $100 in parts and filters on it. It is a $600 vacuum but let me tell you it will suck a golf ball thru a garden hose...

They did a Great Job with this Vacuum, Carpet or Kitchen Vinyl Floor works Great, Headlight at the Foor, Is amazing to me at seeing Dirt etc on kitchen floor! Just saying, Only Vacuum I have in the House Now! Beater Brush pops right out for cleaning the Hair or whatever get wrapped up in it ! Just my 2 cents worth! Mark in CT

You're right about the sweeper, vacuum terminology. Around here if you say sweeper you're talking about using a broom to sweep the floor. If you vacuum you could be using the electric vacuum to clean the carpet or a hardwood/vinyl floor. I seem to remember my relatives in Kentucky talking about using a sweeper (vacuum). Also I think my mom used the sweeper term. Also that frog was a lucky guy!

Growing up we had both a carpet "sweeper" and a vacuum. The carpet sweeper was a small push style beater bar on wheels that when pushed it, the wheels would spin the beater bar a kick the dirt up into a container attached to the back of the beater bar which you could slide off to empty it. these were used when company would show up unannounced and you needed to quickly make it looked like you keep your house clean...lol.

Exactly!!! Probably the precursor to electric vacuum and the name sweeper followed in some areas when the beater bar is now run by a motor rather than needing the wheels on the carpet sweeper moving to turn the beater. In England they call vacuum cleaners "Hoovers", the well known name turned generic, like Kleenex is synonymous with "tissues".

Mike, Melissa is right we have a friend from Pa. that moved to Texas and she always says that she ran the sweeper we had no idea what she was talking about because we used the phrase (we vacuum) as far the Dyson vacuum some people don’t like them and I had one and I was not that happy with it but recently we purchased another Dyson oversized stick vacuum cordless and we are more than thrilled with it it has an oversize canister and oversized sweeper bar and oversize battery. Will last for a good 30 to 40 minutes.

Ed is a champ, i hope i can move as fast as him when i get to be that age :) That Vermeer continues to shine for the work that you do. Great decision and so easy to get on and off. That decal is still crooked :) LOL my ocd is kicking in :) Have a great weekend. We have a Hart cordless vacum we bought at Walmart and its great.

Between your Wolfe Ridge 22C and 28C, which one do you prefer? I think the 22c has a faster cycle time. As for vacuum cleaners, all the household ones end up not lasting and you can't get parts for them. Just get a good shop vac with the attachments you need and be happy.

Like Larry the Cable Guy says, That's funny right there, talking about thawing a turkey in the sink with a laundry basket over it, what do you think it's going jump out of the sink

#1 is a shark, #2 halo capsule X pet max, #3 another shark, #4 Dyson. We have a Dyson and no complaints. That's great helping Melissa's dad get ready for winter. I love how the mini skid holds those logs out there with the grapple!.
