The only issue I have with bolt and why I stopped using it, is the token usage. You don’t know How much you are going to be charged and over time I had an issue where I spent 4million tokens and still couldn’t resolve

@ Also after much testing, I realized that these apps will work ok as long as you do not require some form of backend coz as soon as your app requires it then the horrors start coz then it seems like it will be looking to create code to interact with a backend and the errors become your daily bread. I had issues as well with lovable until they integrated supabase and now its almost perfect. Hopefully bolt becomes better with supabase integration. Lovable doesn’t charge for errors it has to fix so thats a plus for them.

The fact that high token usage is the greatest inconvenience is that Bolt.new tend to rewrite existing code that did not required any modifications, thus leading to this issue.

If you're a paid member there's a new experimental feature called "diff". Turning that on should help quite a bit.

The problem with all of these Ai coders is token usage and deleting code. Even if it is building correctly once the code gets too complex it'll get stuck in a loop and spend all your tokens working on a mistake it made. I've also had these delete random code for no reason and I'm very careful about watching what the code is doing and I still miss when it deletes random code. These are amazing for really simple projects but full stack apps (especially complex apps) is nearly impossible on its own.

I have been playing around with bolt.new for a couple of weeks. Quite awesome. The problem is there doesn't seem to be anyway to connect to a pinecone db. Other databases yes, pinecone doesn't work at all. If anyone has gotten bolt working with pinecone, i'd love to hear how you did it.
