You should drill out the internal restrictor port on the XJ high pressure coupler. If you look at the inside of the WJ coupler, it's a much larger diameter than the XJ coupler. The restrictor on the XJ coupler can be safely drilled out to match the WJ coupler's internal diameter for even better flow. Also, heater hose isn't oil or pressure resistant since it's designed for coolant vs hydraulic fluid. 1/2" transmission cooler hose is a much better application for this. Power steering fluid won't break down trans cooler hose and it will withstand up to 400psi.

After I did the Durango steering box upgrade, i have seen that it may not be a true upgrade, I have been very happy with mine, but supposedly it has bronze bushings instead of roller bearings for the sector shaft. Also, I found a minimal loss in turning angle at full turn but that isn't really an issue for me. The tires rubbed the LCAs a little at full turn, so that was almost a plus. @6:08 heater hose definitely does not work the best. It swells and turns into goo when used with trans fluid (and motor oil). Then when it starts to leak the cooling fan blows it all over the rest of your rubber components ruining them as well, motor mounts, cab, and inner sidewall of your tire. Worst part is that liquid rubber slime will get on your skin anyime you reach into the engine bay making working on your car miserable as no amount of scrubbing gets it off your skin. So what I did was screw in one of the tiny adapters into the pump then screw the larger stud with the end for your wrench over the top of the smaller one. Slap a socket on it like the video making sure to use a screwdriver to stop the pulley from spinning and giver the beans to set the pulley. I hope this makes sense. So the oem replacement pumps between the 92 and 98xj are different. I think its something to do with the pulley and you will need to swap them onto new pump. Maybe if you get the newer upgraded pump off the grand Cherokee v8 and also get a pulley from a 98xj I6 it would work?? I'm not 100% on it so keep your receipts in case it doesn't work out. But in theory I sound like I'm on to something...
