Bolting a Spicer 6+1 a 6.9 IDI

It comes from a t444 international

Ruben is correct. I am using adapter, flywheel, clutch, and transmission from a t444e truck.

Interesting build with a mixture of 6.9L IDI, T444-E, and 7.3L PSD parts. Maybe I missed the video of the engine and tranny installation. How much, if any, did you have to clear the firewall?

Still in the process of building the truck. It had to take a back seat for a few months but we will get back on it soon hopefully.

A spicer 3053 a or b would've been nice the are about size of nv4500 you can get about 300bucks and they have overdrive.

So, I'm planning on tossing a DT466 into an F350 OBS chassis. There's lots to consider, of course, BUT transmissions are on my mind. What made y'all choose the Spicer 6+1 over something like a Fuller 6 speed? (fuller 6 or 7 is my current choice, but I am just now learning that Spicer makes 6-speeds).

I got that one for the right price. Honestly when I chose the trans I was looking for a deal on a dump truck trans.

@@wrenchbenders I did a search after this video and found that I can find either in ??? condition for about $800ish. It appears that the Spicer is tall, where the Fuller is wide. So I s'pose it depends on what direction I want to swing the clearance hammer.

My situation calls for a clearance Sawzall just to get the motor in the truck. Lol

what rpm are you going to shoot for at 70 mph i have a 86 6.9 turbo 4sp but cant get over 76mph to many r,s need more higher gearss any ideas would greatly help

The 4 speed is a 1:1 in 4th. You will either need a ZF5 with an overdrive, a high geared (lower #) rear diff, or taller tires to go faster at the same rpm. I will look at my spreadsheet tomorrow and give you my 70mph rpm with my current setup.

100% true. Just need to get back to this project. Hopefully this summer we can get back to the International project after the duramax is painted.

I got it from a local shop that works on big trucks. Osborne's Equipment in Jackson, Ohio.
