I’m a single woman who enjoys travels in my Silverado but I don’t have a lock on my tailgate. That arcares me sometimes that one day I will have a hitchhiker in my truck bed because I do hace a bed cargo cover. Thanks for this video and I will see to it that I have a lock installed.

Eh, I just put a master latch with a master pad lock all for under $15.00 bucks and maybe not even an hour of hours. It might be a different key but I got 2 in case I lose one. I also I have a Leer camper top so it's even harder one both are locked. If you have a maybe like 45 minutes. Don't mind putting about small 8 drill holes (4 in bed and 4 in tailgate) you can do have in my opinion a more secure solution.

3500 to replace jesus he could have gone to the junkyard they go for like 40 to 50 dollars. But the tailgates are being stolen a lot these days.

Theyve got house locks now that rekey themselves without taking the tumbler apart and changing the pins.

I Seen this and had to buy it,easy install as video , I showed my neighbor and he was going to buy one but forgot too..3 weeks later his tailgate was stolen..now he wishes he would of bought enough one sooner..

If it dont have an existing lock dont you have to have the bars that attach to the lock or add them?

That kit looks just like the GM kit, i just bought the GM kit off ebay and installed today. GM kit is cheaper than the BoltLock. (at this time just looked on ebay)

glad mine came with the key lock option... but honestly how hard is it to just punch out that lock .... if someone really wants the tailgate they will get it
