Great to see you getting around better Kyle, not a bad bike for $850, I like it includes turn signals, ALL eBikes should have them IMO!

This gives me hope to have a full suspension ebike. It's now cheaper than my old ANCHEER. And lower and thus easier for a 70 year old to mount and dismount. I'd want to lose the super knobby tires.

Reply to self: Found a dual suspension ebike I can afford, It's like a poor mans Lectric. It's a Vivi FM20 $520 . Too soon to review it, but it ticks all the boxes for my 10 miles a day over rough roads and bike paths.

A perfect platform for upgrades. $100 for a set of zoom 4 piston hydraulics. $120 for a nice rear shock, $30 for new bars, $100 for street tires, then just add a battery(ies) to suit your needs. The money you save can upgrade this bike AND have money left over.

K Got the X50. It's a lot of bike for the money. You won't believe this, but I got it for $943 Canadian which is about $700 American plus tax and shipping. It's the "upgraded" model with the mag wheels. Also the controller is now better packed in there so there is no rattle. The welds aren't that pretty but I've seen worse on other bikes and the powder coat on the frame hides them so well unless you're looking for them you'll probably not notice. There is one thing however once you unclip the limiter wire you should go into the settings and change "P14" current limit from 15amps(750w max) to 20amps(1000w max), or if you like 22amps(1100w max). It wakes the bike up a bit. The biggest downside is the small 14amp battery. It has a 2.5amp charge BMS so I suggest getting a 3amp charger to cut charge times(don't worry the BMS will only take what it can). I've ordered their larger 17amp battery as I did a cost analysis and for $260 USD with free shipping I can use both batteries and have a total of 31Ah if I carry one of them in a napsack. Gimpy but I've done worse. Instead of buying a whole new large battery and canning the little one. Hey, might as well use it. The brakes are surprisingly good for mechanical but I have some Zoom cable actuated hydraulics sitting here once the bike has been broken in. I may just use the mechanicals brakes pads and cheap out and when they need replacing just swap the calipers. This thing is fast. Normally in the bike lanes in downtown Toronto you can't realistically go over 22mph which that is even too fast (PAS3). However if the bike lanes is jammed to the tits and I need to pass a bunch of bikes, or if there is no bike lane I can pop it on PAS4 and get around 45kph or PAS5 and get around 50kph which is max street speed in the city. Fastest I've done is 53kph down a small hill. On a full charge with no load the bike will pull to 55.9kph or 35mph. Obviously it's not going to go 35mph with a person on it but 30mph is doable, or close to it. I've put mirrors and a better kickstand on there for safety. The kickstand that it comes with is not terrible but the one I bought has a larger footprint for better parking on hills or soft terrain. If you are easy on the throttle and mostly use PAS3/4 I figure you can get around 35-45kms on the dinky battery. So maybe 22 to 28 miles, maybe 30 miles if you're not going too crazy. I'll do a review on my tech channel before I start modifying it with a break down of costs. To fix all these little things doesn't cost a lot, except the battery. Who knows maybe you're fine with a smaller battery if you just commute a few miles each day. It's a decent battery but with a 1000w peak it can eat it up pretty quickly. Get the faster charger, you'll be charging a lot if you drive like me 🙂. Oh, and I plan on buying a coil rear shock with a lighter 850 pound spring and rebound and preload adjustment for around $65 CDN. It's a 165mm if anyone wants to know. The rear is like a rock, it works but maybe if I was 330 pounds(max weight) I would use it. PAS Speeds no load(what the bike is trying to reach)full charge. PAS 1 - 20km/h....12.5mph PAS 2 - 30km/h....18.6mph PAS 3 - 40km/h....25mph PAS 4 - 50km/h....31mph PAS 5 - 55.9km/h....34.7mph From 3 to 4 is where I mostly ride as I can cruise in 3 and move along in the city bike lanes smartly then hit "turbo" PAS4 and pass pretty much anything.

@@chrissinclair8705 Very important tip for this bike that I learned recently: The rear shock isn't anywhere near as stiff as you think it is. They overtorque the hell out of the bolt that holds both pieces of the frame together at the bottom and lets it articulate. Pop the plastic covers off with a razor blade and loosen them up, and suddenly you have rear suspension that actually does something

Valuable information that will help inform future resale prices and more certain specifications. The road work traffic converging into one lane, perfectly illustrated the need for e bikes needing high speeds at certain times.

This was an interesting video indeed! And if I was a betting guy, I'd bet the X50 will do great regarding sales. Heck, grab one of these to enjoy right now. Then over time you can replace any questionable parts with your choice of upgrades. Sounds rather win-win to me!

Great, fair review; I don't know how they accomplished this for $790 (Amazon price) even with low end suspension parts. I'm glad that I don't like mini bikes or would be tempted if only to discover how long it would last.

No reason you couldnt ride this bike around for doing errands and go to work if its just 3-4 miles each way. Take it out and explore your area during nice days. As fast as your average gas moped was in the day.

Hi, I just bought this bike, but the 48V 12.8ah battery seems a bit poor, would you recommend a 21700 15/20ah for more miles, and a little more speed? Also I heard from some owners, that from the display you could change the value 48V to 52/54.6V, do you know if the change can improve the maximum speed? Thanks in advance, bye bye.

These E-bikes are far behind! And I think I may have a better deal than this Jansno. Awaiting its arrival soon :D

I still don’t understand why they bother to put pedals on this sort of thing. Unless the rider is very short, the pedals are useless. Perhaps if it didn’t have pedals it couldn’t be classed as an e-bike?

In many cases yes pedals are required. I'd rather have an ebike thats hard to pedal than one you can't pedal at all.

cons: sweep on bars too much, welds are apparently crappy non-robot human cheap labor done very messy which could be a concern, cable brakes, tires like others so much thin rubber between cleats will probably cause flats easily, steel frame may rust in spots after light rain potentially
